Jerningham Road, London, SE14

Description

Smart and bright two bedroom conversion flat of 660 square feet, set on the first floor of a generous Victorian townhouse. Chain free.

Enjoy a Freehold-share, double-glazed timber-framed sash windows (new in 2021), high ceilings, solid oak floors with sound proofing, and a neutral decorative scheme. We should also mention the building boasts a new roof.

The location is a wide and tree-lined residential street within New Cross's leafy Telegraph Hill Conservation Area.

You are just a two minute walk from New Cross Gate Station (Fare Zone 2, with regular and Overground services), placing you just one stop from London Bridge. Parking is unrestricted, on-street.

A shared hall welcomes you. Nip up to the first floor for your own front door. Once in, first ahead is your independent kitchen - gloss white modern fitted units are plentiful, and these are teamed with dark worktops.

Next door is your large reception room, with three sash west-facing windows, and space for both lounge and dining areas. The delightful room is over 14 feet by over 10 feet.

Your two bedrooms are set to the rear of the building, with a large single sash window each, to verdant vistas.

Completing the tour is a neat internal bathroom with over bath shower, with independent w.c. next door.

Telegraph Hill is a dream of a community to call home. Once home to Victorian poet Robert Browning, this highly-desirable hillside neighbourhood with impressive London skyline views was developed in the late C19th, replacing market land - owned by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers (who controlled the development) - with high-standard housing. As well as the attractive architecture and fancy street lamps, what stands here now is a lovely, leafy locale with fab connections to central London alongside good schools and parks.

Telegraph Hill's Victorian Parks (Upper and Lower) are really close, as is The Hill Station community cafe. There's a weekly Saturday market held in the Lower Park, or nip down to Brockley Market (held on Saturdays in the Lewisham College Car Park).

NXG Station is winning-at-life close as we've mentioned. Brilliant bus routes also run day and night from nearby New Cross Road.

We're big fans of New Cross's centre too, with its pretty, historical buildings and growing number of pubs and eateries, including The Rosemary (organic Hungarian fayre), The Rose Inn and The Earl of Derby and The Amersham Arms. Thanks to Goldsmiths University, New Cross attracts a cool creative crowd and has a contemporary art gallery: Goldmiths CCA (open afternoons). A big Sainsbury's store by NXG Station is on hand for 'the big shop'.

Nunhead with its high street village feel is close to you too. Here we like Ayres bakery, Mother Superior and FC Soper wet fish shop.

Bus, cycle or walk to Deptford High Street where recommended eateries include Marcella and SALT. And of course Peckham is also close for more options.
