Formerly a Victorian residence named Oadby Hill and set in extensive parkland grounds extending to the existing Leicester Racecourse and occupying of the most substantial landholdings in the area. Constructed in the mid 19th Century for W E Hutchinson, a former Director of Midland Railway. The Hutchinson familys legacy is embedded in Oadbys infrastructure including transport, park, library and swimming pool, provided through philanthropy.

The original estate included stabling, outbuildings and lodge retained within parkland tree boundaries.
