The riverside village of Naburn sits on the eastern banks of the River Ouse, around four miles from York City Centre. The village benefits from a church, a village hall, play area and Naburn Primary School. The Yorkshire Ouse Sailing Club and a Riding Centre are also within the village.

York is on the East Coast mainline, some services making the journey to London Kings Cross in under two hours. There is a bus service to the city centre as well as a national cycle network to York and Selby.

York boasts a range of local cafes, shops, supermarkets and excellent restaurants including the award winning The Star Inn the City by Andrew Pern and the Michelin-starred restaurant, Roots, by Tommy Banks. In addition, there is Skosh by Neil Bentinck which also boasts a Michelin-star, positioned on popular Micklegate.

York further boasts a number of exceptional private schools including The Mount, Bootham and St Peter'sl. Queen Margaret's School for Girls is about four miles from the village. The village is within the catchment area for the highly regarded Fulford School (Academy).
