BRIEF HISTORY Tinkers Thatch has grade II listed status and a rich history. Indeed, "the ground floor is one of the best surviving examples of a medieval mud cottage, although its size shows that it was a really substantial house. The upper floor was added in the 17th century, c.1690, and there were further extensions in c. 1840 and 1910 when it became Frederick Morris' bootmaker's shop and Post Office.
