Property description

Tenure: Freehold

A substantial property with lovely gardens in a beautiful rural setting

Frieth Court is a stunning property, occupying the major part of a large period house in a peaceful location on the edge of Frieth village. The property backs onto beautiful open countryside and features splendid gardens, while inside, there is well laid out accommodation, complemented by a variety of attractive period details.

On the ground floor there is a spacious sitting room with a triple aspect, including French doors opening onto the south-facing front gardens, and an open fireplace. There is also a formal dining room with painted timber paneling to the walls and an elegant chandelier light fitting. The cosy snug provides further space in which to relax as a family, while a painted wrought-iron spiral staircase leads to the basement, and an additional reception room. The kitchen and dining room has plenty of storage space, granite worktops and an Aga.

Upstairs there are five bedrooms, four of which are doubles, with the fifth bedroom currently being used as a study. The large principal bedroom features an en suite bathroom, while the three other double bedrooms are all of a similar size. There is a family bathroom with a freestanding roll-top bathtub and a separate shower unit, as well as a separate shower room.

A gravel driveway leads to the side of the house and provides plenty of parking space, as well as access to the double garage. The gardens are mainly found to the front of the house, with its sunny south-facing aspect. There are extensive rolling lawns, paved terracing and pathways, beautiful flowerbeds with roses and a variety of other colourful flowers and plants, well-trimmed hedgerow and a number of mature trees. Beyond the gardens there are views of the magnificent fields and countryside.

The property is set on the edge of the village of Frieth, surrounded by stunning countryside in the heart of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has two pubs and a local primary school while there are plenty of shops, including supermarkets, leisure facilities and further schooling in Marlow and Henley-on-Thames, both of which are six miles away.
There are a wide choice of both state and private schools in the area, specifically Frieth Primary School in the village and the renowned grammar school Sir William Borlase in Marlow for secondary education.
There is a mainline train service from High Wycombe (32 minutes to London Marylebone). Access to the M40 is within six miles. There is extensive riding and walking in the surrounding countryside.

From Henley-on-Thames, take the A4155/Marlow Road north away from the town centre, and after three miles, turn left onto Skirmett Road. Continue for two miles, before turning right onto Colstrope Lane and then after a mile, at the junction, turn left onto Paramoor Lane, following the sign for Frieth. Continue for a mile, into Frieth, and just after the road bends to the right, turn left onto Innings Road. After half a mile, you will find the entrance to the property on your right-hand side.
