Close by is a protected nature reserve. Numerous free and resort beaches are easily accessible in and around both Nettuno and Anzio. Furthermore, a number of beautiful beach locations can be reached within a 15 to 30 minute ride: Circeo (also famous for a national park), Foce Verde, Sabaudia, Torre Astura. From the port of Anzio there are ferries departing daily to the "Pontinian islands": Ponza, Ventotene, Parmarola and Zanone.
Numerous free events take place every year every day over the summer between July and August including food, wine and beer festivals, open air theatre and cinema, live concerts, jazz festival, and fashion shows.
The house is approximately 60 km from Rome's city centre. Nettuno and Anzio are a one hour train ride to Rome's central Termini Station. Train tickets are very cheap.
