Property description

Tenure: Freehold

Located in a quiet no-through road on the site of a former working farm built in the 18th century, this property was converted to a dwelling in 1986. Nowadays it is an attractive family home retaining many interesting features as a reminder of its history, notably exposed timbers. The main reception rooms span the depth of the house and the sitting room creates a wonderfully warm and welcoming feel with a large inglenook fireplace. It leads to the panelled dining room which has wooden flooring and, in turn, opens to the recently remodelled kitchen which has a range of integrated Neff appliances and a pull-out larder.
At the opposite end of the house there is a bedroom and shower room; ideal for a guest or live-in elderly relative. This would work equally well as a principal bedroom and it overlooks the courtyard garden. Rising to the first floor, the galleried landing leads to an office, bedroom and bathroom (with a large rolltop bath) on one side and to a large bedroom on the other. Both bedrooms have capacious fitted wardrobes and storage space is provided beyond one of these bedrooms.

Access to the property is gained via a shared drive where one of the two garages is located. The second garage is nearby. A gate leads to the courtyard garden, making a very pretty approach to the house. Plenty of thought has gone into the design with areas of paving as well as gravel, creating a low-maintenance and attractive courtyard garden whose centrepiece is an attractive circular fountain. A terrace, with a door to the kitchen, is ideal for al fresco entertaining and a shady arbour provides shelter from the summer sun. The garden is bordered by walls and hedging.

The Lee is an exceptionally pretty village with strong connections to the Liberty family and it has often been the location for television productions including Midsomer Murders. Village life centres around the green and the 12th century church which regularly hosts musical events and functions. The cricket club is lively and there is also a tennis court in the village as well as a community shop. Local pubs include the Cock and Rabbit with a wider choice of restaurants and shops in nearby Great Missenden (2.6 miles distant). Fast trains run from Great Missenden to London Marylebone in approximately 45 minutes. Buckinghamshire is renowned for its state and private education, details of which can be obtained from the local authority.
