This elegant, individual, Georgian styled, spacious, property stands well back along this quiet road leading into the delightful village of Alconbury. Constructed thirty-four years ago, it has been stunningly refurbished to become an outstanding family home since the present owners came to live here thirteen years ago.
It was with some hesitation that the owners took the decision to move from their idyllic rural location to one with convenient access to highly rated schools for their family; Alconbury was their choice of location. However, once they stepped over the threshold into this property, the large galleried landing overlooking the entrance hall, presented an immediate welcome. Even though the house required much TLC, they immediately recognised its potential to become their perfect family home. A large refurbishment has taken place and the internal layout ‘tweaked’ to create space for a more contemporary lifestyle. Apart from the unseen, practical, essentials, replacement kitchen and bathrooms, alongside the creation of an independent suite on the ground floor, have just been some of the enhancements to the house.
The kitchen/family space is very much the hub of home life, but the house enjoys an abundance of space to pursue individual activities and hobbies whilst, at the same time, there is a seamless connectivity throughout. Having such space and privacy, together with its amenities, working from home is extremely efficient. The house is perfect when it comes to entertaining, whether large or small gatherings of family and friends. The garden comes into its own on such occasions, but it also a pleasant space in which to relax after busy days and enjoy the sounds of the local countryside.
Apart from its outstanding schools, Alconbury contains a wealth of convenient amenities and facilities. It is such a caring community, with many events and activities taking place in the local village hall. In addition, it is just a few minutes onto the recently upgraded A14 which enables quick journeys into Cambridge or Peterborough, alongside efficient access to mainline stations.
A wonderful home which has been much loved by its owners and whoever decides to live here will be able to move in and enjoy their new home from the very first moment.
