A sweeping gravelled drive, flanked by tranquil woodland gardens, provides a magnificent first impression and access to this exceptional, period home. Imposing double storm doors open into an entrance porch with an original stained-glass door. This leads into a wide reception hall with original timber doors featuring stained-glass windows/plaques (with a WC cloakroom and storage). The ground floor is characterised by traditional leaded pane windows and locally sourced timber flooring. To the right of the hall, extended by a southwest-facing bay window, a handsome, triple-aspect drawing room is arranged around an original stone fireplace and incorporates space for a study area, alongside comfortable seated furnishings. The dining kitchen features walk-in pantry storage and is sympathetically appointed with understated country-style cabinetry, solid timber worktops, a traditional Belfast sink and a traditional Aga set against a rustic tiled backdrop. A spacious alcove, fitted with banquette seating, provides a charming space for family meals and convivial gatherings, whilst an adjoining utility room (with garden access) offers space for appliances. Accessed from both the main hall and the hall off the dining kitchen, the dining room is perfect for formal entertaining, displays timber beams, traditional alcoves and classic, sophisticated presentation, all set against a backdrop of delightful garden views. A relaxing, triple-aspect family room has a wall-mounted Morso log burning stove as its striking centrepiece and extends into the garden via a set of southeast-facing French doors.
Framed by a carved timber balustrade, a staircase rises up from the hall to a galleried landing where a windowed alcove, with bespoke monk’s bench seating, creates a cosy reading nook.
Accessed from the landing are four double bedrooms (three with built-in storage) all plushly carpeted and tastefully presented, whilst a versatile room, currently arranged as a study, could alternatively represent a good-sized single bedroom. Completing the accommodation, a traditionally-styled four-piece shower room neighbours a four-piece family bathroom with excellent built-in storage. Gas central heating is found throughout and a number of windows have been double glazed. The home offers scope, with the appropriate permissions, to extend into the loft or grounds.
Externally, the home sits within extensive woodland garden grounds featuring a delightful pond with an ornamental timber bridge and a large southeast-facing patio for al fresco dining and summer entertaining. A gravelled driveway leads to a wide turning area and a gated courtyard with an attached single garage, and a single carport.
