Property description

Tenure: Freehold

DESCRIPTION Hogs Cottage is a prominent, double fronted link-detached period cottage situated in the Horsefair close to the centre of Malmesbury. The accommodation, which now requires modernisation throughout, is principally arranged over two floors with a further attic on the second floor providing potential for a third bedroom extending in all to 1,049 sq.ft. The accommodation includes an entrance lobby, open plan dining room and living room with open fire and a basic fitted kitchen with an under-stair pantry. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms plus a bathroom whilst stairs lead up from the landing to the attic which features exposed beams and dual aspect. There is excellent scope for refurbishment and modernisation to upgrade this cottage set within one of Malmesbury's oldest lane.

There is a courtyard garden enclosed by red brick wall accessed off the kitchen which has its own gated side access to the Horsefair. On street parking is available in the vicinity.

SITUATION Malmesbury is an ancient hilltop town situated on the southern edge of The Cotswolds. Traditionally a market town serving the rural area of North West Wiltshire, the town is reputed to be the oldest borough in England created by Charter in 880 AD by Alfred the Great. Today, the High Street has numerous independent shops, pubs and restaurants including a new Waitrose store and a regular weekly Farmer's market whilst the town has excellent choice of both primary and secondary schools and good recreational and leisure facilities. The M4 motorway (J17) to the south provides fast road access to the major employment centres of Bristol and Swindon together with London and the West Country. Main line rail services are available from Chippenham and Kemble (Paddington in about 75 minutes).
