Property description

Tenure: Freehold

Brockhurst is an imposing and fine Edwardian building first constructed in 1901 and has had various uses including preparatory school, accommodation for St.Dunstan's blind servicemen during World War II, Catholic abbots training centre and since late 1960s and more recently was professionally converted into self-contained residential apartments. It is located a short distance from the centre of the popular south Shropshire market town in an elevated and beautifully secluded position overlooking the Stretton Hills and surrounding picturesque scenery.
The Communal Grounds are a feature of the property including lawns, established trees, woodland and a large playing field. There are garages and parking areas.

8 Brockhurst occupies a delightful location on the first floor approached via the communal reception hall and staircase. The deceptively spacious accommodation has been very well maintained and modernised by the present owners and internal viewing is highly recommended. In brief, it comprises reception hall, spacious drawing room, fitted kitchen, bathroom and 2 large double bedrooms. It benefits from modern secondary and night-storage-heating. The Apartment is sold with a single garage with electric point and light, plus parking space for one further vehicle.

Church Stretton lies amidst the South Shropshire Hills midway between Shrewsbury (13 miles) and Ludlow (14 miles) along the A49 road. It can claim to be one of the most beautifully situated towns in England. It has a population of around 4,000 and being a popular market and tourist town it offers excellent shopping facilities including supermarkets and banks. There are churches, doctors and dental surgeries, senior and primary schools, recreational facilities, 'Mayfair' community centre, bus and rail communications. Telford lies within easy commuting distance where the M54 gives easy access to the West Midlands and Birmingham.

Directions: From the Church Stretton Town Square take the Ludlow Road southwards towards Little Stretton. Continue past the turning to the Longmynd Hotel on the right, pass Stretton Farm Road on the left and just after the first bend in the road, turn left signposted 'Brockhurst'. Take the right fork right to the end, were Brockhurst is located.
