What do you love most about your home? We love that it's really quiet despite being in such a vibrant and well-connected area. There's no through-traffic, and the aspect looks out onto our communal garden (where we planted a few veggies during lockdown), and the pretty terraces behind. We are keen cooks and enjoyed designing the kitchen to maximise the worktop and cupboard space, and we've never regretted going to town with the spice rack! A favourite feature is the made-to-measure bookshelves in the living room (crafted from solid sleepers), which feel like real, wooden beams and bring some extra soul to the place. There is good sound isolation between floors keeping things quieter in the flat, and also quite temperate through summer and winter.




Why are you moving? It's been really tough to leave this place behind so we've ended up staying 13 years. But with working from home becoming a more frequent reality, we now need a place with a separate music teaching room. Hopefully our search won't take us too far away!




What do you love about the area? Drayton Park and Lower Holloway have changed remarkably over the past decade. Priced out of Upper Street, new restaurants in Islington tend to open here now- notable recent additions being Western's Laundry (Bib Gourmand), Zia Lucia ('best pizza in London'), and Sambal Shiok Laksa Bar. For an artisan coffee, it's now a tough choice between EZ & Moss, Vagabond, and the longstanding Peché Mignon (Little Sin!). For a tipple in the evening, choose from vinyl tracks & natural wines at the Highbury Library, an amazing selection of craft beer brewed here in N7 at the Hammerton, or (our favourite) Irish jam night at the candlelit atmospheric pub, The Lamb. To escape, as well as Highbury Fields, there's also the Olden Garden - a community garden which has its own orchards and woods. ALL the above within 7 minutes walk! Transport-wise, it's great being so near the Piccadilly line, Victoria line, the overground AND the Great Northern into the City, yet best of all being able to cycle almost anywhere in town in half an hour!
