Queen Street is a charming period residential road in heart of central Henley, positioned centrally between the town centre shopping area and the train station.
Henley on Thames is a charming and famous riverside town within 10 miles of Reading, 35 miles of central London and 25 miles from Heathrow. Henley is surrounded by lovely countryside, dominated by the Chiltern Hills and the River Thames runs through the town itself. There are miles of walking, cycling and running routes along the Thames Path and in the surrounding countryside, and of course rowing and boating on the River Thames. Every summer the town hosts the world-famous Royal Regatta followed by the Henley Festival and Rewind Festival.
The town has a railway station providing a link to the mainline stations in Reading and Twyford with a fast service to London Paddington (from 28 minutes). Crossrail will allow direct access to the City, Canary Wharf, the West End and Heathrow Airport from 2019. The M4 (J8/9) is approximately 7 miles away, and the M40 (J4) is 12 miles.
Henley offers an excellent variety of shops, ranging from high street chains to independent boutiques. There are numerous coffee shops and many restaurants offering an array of cuisines. Sporting facilities include several fine local golf courses and clubs for rugby, squash, swimming and tennis. Local primary schools include Trinity, Badgemore and Valley Road, and are all rated good or outstanding by Ofsted. Gillotts School and The Henley College offer secondary and 6th form education.
The entrance hall is grand and stylish with wooden effect flooring, high ceilings and ornate plasterwork. The living room has a fireplace nook and bay window with white plantation shutters. The kitchen has been cleverly extended to allow for a semi-open plan feel. There are granite worktops, a built in 6 burner gas range cooker and a breakfast bar with space for seating. The dining area has a glazed ceiling allowing in plenty of light and access to the courtyard garden. Through an arch is a comfortable family seating area with a decorative fireplace and rustic style mantle with matching built in storage units either side. The ground floor is completed with a fully fitted utility area and a downstairs w.c.
Upstairs, the family bathroom has been beautifully renovated. It now features a large walk in shower, separate bath and wall hung vanity unit. The main bedroom has a wall of built in wardrobes and, in common with all of the bedrooms, white plantation shutters fitted to the large windows. There is a second double bedroom, also with a fitted pair of wardrobes and a third bedroom, currently used as study. The second floor is entirely the fourth bedroom which benefits from double aspect windows and eaves storage.
The front of the property is suitably grand with a large front door under a covered porch and small front garden. The house is eligible for up to two on-street parking permits. As an end of terrace, it benefits from side access via and alley through a garden gate into the courtyard garden. It is a low-maintenance, fully paved west facing garden, which has a large storage shed.
