Waitress-Service Restuarant - Which provides a 3 course hot lunch daily for a modest cost. There are two sittings (12.00 & 13.00). You normally book a week in advance & choose from a menu that includes vegetarian options. Salads and fresh fruit are always available. Many residents bring a bottle of wine to lunch! Residents share tables and lunch is a big social event. At Christmas and Easter the chef provides a special festive menu with additional courses. If you are unwell the staff will bring a meal to your apartment.

Communal Laundry Room - On the lowest level. This contains 4 automatic washing machines (Miele & Bosch) and dryers which are free to use (you supply your own washing powder). There is also an iron & ironing board. This is a really fantastic facility.

Communal Guest Suite - This is available for friends and family. It contains twin beds and an en-suite shower, with tea & coffee facilities. You need to book. Rates are very reasonable.

Communal Garden - With terrace and wooden benches to enjoy the English summer!

Activities - Weekly film viewings in the TV room
Weekly activities in house such as carpet bowls, gentle exercise classes, bingo and guest lectures.
Organised trips to the theatre, musicals or coach tours to places of interest.
Many of the residents club together to share a taxi into Gravesend or Bluewater.
Gravesend train station provides fast trains to London or the coast.
Buses are available locally to Bluewater, Dartford, Meopham, Longfield & Sevenoaks.

Security - There is a secure entry system so that visitors have to call the apartment they are visiting and speak to the resident before being buzzed in. Residents have their own key fob to facilitate entry.

Each apartment has its own locked front door with spy hole.
Each apartment has a 24 hour Emergency Careline.

Staffing - Estate Manager.
24 hour on-site staffing.
One hour of domestic help (included in the service charge) is provided for each apartment. Additional help can be purchased privately. The staff do not provide personal or nursing care but they will help residents to find suitable help if needed.
Handyman available weekly to undertake routine maintenance tasks & other small projects within the residents apartments. Very friendly, trustworthy & reasonable!
There are already private chiropodists & hairdressers visiting Nelson Court so it is easy to arrange these services.

Mobility - Nelson Court is wheel chair friendly with lifts to all floors. The apartments are designed to accommodate a wheel chair and the bathrooms contain a wet room style shower as well as a bath.

Covid 19 Restrictions - Current guidelines at the time of printing: To ensure compliance with Government guidelines the restaurant facilities are closed, but residents are being provided with the same food options at the same cost, with meals being delivered directly to residents' flats. The laundry facilities remain open but residents are encouraged to maintain social distancing and hygiene practises. The building has been kept sanitised and clean and Management have done an excellent job at keeping everyone safe and Covid secure. Guests have been allowed to visit residents throughout lock-downs.
