Forest Road, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40
- SEMI-RURAL CHARM
- No onward chain
- Exposed beams
- Four bedrooms
- Stunning gardens
- Outside office
- Plenty of driveway parking
When I first asked our sellers why they purchased this home they told me that they fell in love with the character and were blown away by the fact that they would live the `semi-rural` lifestyle yet live in such a convenient location.
Plus, the property is not listed so they felt any future improvements would be easier than your typical period home.
As you pull on to the gravel driveway, you will notice that there is plenty of space to park multiple cars with lawn in front of the property adding to the true charm and character that you will find here.
The versatility of this house means that our sellers don`t usually use the front door but you might plan to when you move in. Should you take this route, you`ll find yourself in a large reception room currently used as a large living space and dining room.
Across to the right hand side of the property you`ll find the office although, again, there are so many uses for each of the rooms in this house that it will purely be down to the new owner as to how they all get used.
What I was amazed by when I first visited Fox and Hounds Cottage is just how light, bright and airy it feels which is something you usually just do not see with character homes.

The kitchen has a stunning Aga with traditional wooden kitchen units with contrasting stone worktops complimented by a Belfast sink just below the window that looks out on to the garden.
Another huge selling point to this home is that all the bedrooms are extremely well proportioned. My favourite of them is the main downstairs bedroom...when I visited here for the first time, it was a hot sunny day and you could just imagine waking up in the morning, flinging the doors open to the garden and sitting in the morning sun enjoying a cup of coffee!
Upstairs, the three bedrooms are accompanied by a cloakroom and again, are extremely generous in terms of size.
The gardens here are simply stunning. Not only is the front garden perfectly manicured but the rear garden is too. The block paved patio stretches across the back of the house with mature shrubs acting as a border between the patio and the lawn.
The newest addition to the outside is the garden office which is fully fitted with light and power so working from home need not be an issue. Obviously the office had multiple uses and could be used as a studio or extra play space for children.
All in all, Fox and Hounds Cottage is the epitome of a character cottage in a stunning location and thanks to the lack of any listing, offers the flexibility of being altered and changed in the future. Come and experience it all for yourself by calling us today..
