I learned to fly my helicopter from here and rising up above my own house was incredible, he said. I love the fact it is surrounded on three sides by open countryside while inside everything is beautifully finished.
The spacious house has six bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. Reception rooms are stylish and contemporary, designed for comfort and easy living.
I also converted a separate building, which now has a one bedroom annexe below, complete with a bedroom, bathroom, fitted kitchen and living area, he said. Above it I created a cinema room, office and entertainment area and I do have planning permission for an extension that would join this on to the main house and could accommodate a swimming pool.
Set in two acres, the splendid property enjoys complete privacy. The owner said his home was the perfect place to entertain friends and host parties. We have so much room here, both inside and out. In the summer, you could hold fabulous garden parties, with marquees out in the lawn, bands and dancing. This would be an ideal setting for a wedding. Guests could even arrive by helicopter if they chose because of the helipad. The sumptuous reception space inside also lends itself to social occasions. Visitors could be greeted with aperitifs or cocktails in the entrance hall before moving on into the elegant drawing or dining room. The reception hall is a bright, spacious area, with a galleried landing. It is a room in itself, with space for people to mill about.
Time To Relax
The spectacular dining room seats up to 20 people and could be the scene of many superb dinner parties and banquets. The grand drawing room exudes comfort as well as style and is where guests would be able to relax after dinner and enjoy the rest of their evening.
One of the great pleasures of this house is that it has all these incredible spaces for entertaining and yet it is also very welcoming. When you are here on your own, or with the family, there are plenty of rooms to sit quietly in, which are cosy and inviting, he said.
I love spending time in the kitchen, for example. This is a stylish room with everything you need in it and yet it is also homely.
Leisure & Pleasure
Other favourite spaces are the cinema room, where the owner can enjoy watching films with his family or a small group of friends. The entertainment area is also fantastic if he wants to unwind in a more casual setting.
I have a mahogany bar in there that came from a real pub, he explained. With so many bedrooms and bathrooms, guests can easily be accommodated overnight. Proximity to beautiful countryside and the vibrant city of Norwich make this the ideal place to enjoy a weekend break.
It is also easy to access the scenic Norfolk Broads and picturesque coastline from here. The house has everything we have needed, he admitted. If someone wished to take it further, and add a swimming pool, it could have even more leisure opportunities. We have really enjoyed our time at Brooke Manor and hope the next owners have as much fun as we have had.
The Ground Floor Accommodation
From its driveway approach, the first glimpse of Brooke Manor can`t fail to impress, with attractive elevations that offer an early indication as to this home`s generous size. Large wooden double doors open to the striking reception hall with a vaulted ceiling and staircase that leads you up to the galleried landing. From here there is access to all the ground floor accommodation. The drawing room offers a triple aspect overlooking the surrounding countryside and enjoying the rural views. The focal point to the room is the stunning fireplace. From the drawing room you lead onto the family room with views out over the courtyard and then back onto the reception hall. The dining room also leads from the reception hall offering a double access from either end of the room. The large window not only provides views out over the grounds but also fills the room with natural light and really emphasises the sense of space. The focal point to the room is the stunning fireplace. Moving back though the reception hall you note the w/c before moving on to the kitchen via large double doors, creating an easy flow that is ideal for entertaining. In keeping with the rest of the house, the kitchen is a light-filled room that has been fitted with a contemporary range of cabinets providing plenty of storage. There is also a central island that separates the kitchen from the breakfast area and from the family room beyond, while the triple aspect elevates the sense of space. From the kitchen breakfast area you lead onto the rear hall offering access to the courtyard, w/c, utility room and boiler room.
The First Floor Accommodation
Taking the sweeping staircase to the galleried landing, you note the window that offers fabulous views of the rolling hillside giving you vistas out to the countryside beyond. From here you access the four bedrooms on this floor. The master room is a highlight with dual aspect views and its own en-suite and dressing room, a truly wonderful space. You will find three further bedrooms all equally welcoming and beautifully presented and all of which offer elevated views of the countryside. Each room is filled with natural light and offer their own en-suites. You note the family bathroom before moving up to the next floor.
The Second Floor Accommodation
As you climb the stairs you find yourself on the second floor landing offering access to the two remaining bedrooms in the main house, both of which are equally welcoming and beautifully presented. Both offer spacious en-suite bathrooms.
The Annexe & Games Complex
The annexe and games complex is a detached building across the courtyard. Within the complex you will find the triple garages. A glazed door leads you onto the one bedroom annexe. A small reception hall leads you to the sitting room, where large glazed doors offer access out to the gardens and fills the room with natural light. Moving back through the reception hall you note the bathroom before leading onto the kitchen, fitted with a matching range of cabinets and offering plenty of storage. From the kitchen you lead onto the double bedroom. From the courtyard you have a door that leads you into a small reception hall and a staircase leading you to the first floor. The first room you come to is the bar area and games room. This is a fun room with a fully fitted bar and kitchen area. From here you lead though to the inner hall and onto the office, bathroom and film library, then onto the cinema room, a great place to watch a film on the big screen.
Brooke Manor occupies a privileged position with exceptional views across the surrounding landscapes that provide a unique and breathtaking outlook. From its sweeping driveway approach you can fully appreciate the gardens that the house has to offer with rolling lawns and mature trees. The gardens continue to the rear and side of the house where there is a sunken terrace area which is ideal for social gatherings and long summer lunches.
Brooke is a large village seven miles south of Norwich.
It has a pretty village green and pond at its heart.
The handsome church of St Peter is just to the north of this and is a pleasing mixture of ancient flint and bright red brick buttresses. The Norman round tower tapers more than most, finishing with a late medieval chequer work parapet at the top.
The church`s most famous feature, however, is one of East Anglia`s finest Seven Sacrament fonts. he joy of Brooke Manor is the rural peace and quiet with the convenience of being only a few steps from the village. The house is situated in the popular village of Brooke, offering glorious views over open countryside and yet the bustling market town of Beccles is within easy reach, providing good local shopping and leisure facilities plus leading schooling. Recreational facilities in the area are excellent with beautiful scenic walks and pleasant cycle routes. Norwich station offers links to Cambridge and London. The A140, A47 and A11 are within easy reach and offer convenient access to key locations around the UK, including London, Ipswich, Cambridge and the city of Norwich which is approximately ten miles from the house. Norwich offers fantastic shopping centres, theatres, cinemas and restaurants, while the coast can be reached easily at Lowestoft or Yarmouth.
Leave Norwich on the A146 and at the second set of lights turn right onto the B1332, towards Poringland and Brooke. Continue through the village of Poringland and once you approach Brooke turn right onto High Green. Follow the road along and take the last turning left onto High Green Garden before leaving the village. The gated entrance can be found at the end of the lane.
The property has planning permission in place for an area that connects to the garaging and annexe, which is as follows:-
Gym, Garden Room, Changing Room, Sauna and Indoor Swimming Pool.
