Full description

Set in the coastal village of Langland and close to the amenities of the highly sought after Mumbles area on the Gower Peninsula, this bespoke and contemporary home is just minutes from the beach. Its curved walls, conical roof and stunning open plan living space help to create a modern home for those wanting a truly luxurious lifestyle. The property is perfect as a second home, and for those with entertaining in mind, you will love the stunning kitchen and luxurious bathroom and en-suites.

Gareth Evans fell in love with the newly-built, architect-designed house for its unique appearance and beautiful interiors.
But before he had even had the chance to move into the Mumbles property, his personal circumstances changed and he took the decision to put it back on the market.
Deciding to sell this house has been heart-wrenching - this is my dream home, he said. But my partner is in Pembrokeshire and we have decided that if we are going to make it more permanent I really need to be living there.
He added: The first time I saw this house I fell in love with it. Mumbles is a wonderful place - the St Tropez of Wales - and this property is a one-off. It is a beautiful, unique home that would be an incredible place to live.

The spacious, three or four-bedroom house has a curved exterior, with large windows and white walls, and a conical slate roof.
It is not unlike a French or Spanish villa from the outside - it was the most stunning home I had ever seen, said Gareth. Inside, it reminded me of a cruise liner, with white walls and lots of granite and aluminium.
You step into the huge hallway and there is a semi-circular, solid granite staircase, with aluminium rails; it all feels very bright, open and modern.
Much of the sleeping accommodation is on the ground floor of the house. Here guests will be able to enjoy three bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom.
There is also a further bathroom and access to the garage on this level. One of the bedrooms here could be used as a study if necessary.

The impressive, curved staircase sweeps up to the first floor, where the master suite and the main living area are situated.
You come up into this wonderful, huge open area, with a slate fireplace and granite tiles, he said. This is where you would relax in the evening or welcome friends if you were entertaining.
This drawing room area, which has a vaulted ceiling and oak beams, is open into the kitchen and breakfast room, offering the ultimate in open plan living. Thanks to its large windows, it is flooded with light and enjoys a sense of being high above the rest of the world.
From this part of the house there are views out over the tops of the trees. It is almost as if you are in the canopy yourself. It really is incredible.

The kitchen is fitted with top-of-the-range Neff appliances, including a coffee maker, steam oven with warming drawer, microwave, ceramic hob and integrated dishwasher. There is an Amana fridge freezer and a Liebherr wine cooler.
This has all the mod cons you could wish for. It would be a superb place to hold a party, he said. There are granite work surfaces and there is a big, curved island.
Here a new owner would be able to sit up to enjoy the Sunday papers and a cup of coffee at the weekend. Equally, there is plenty of space for a dining table for family meals.

At the far end of the house on this floor is the master suite, Gareth explained. This is just jaw-dropping as well. It has a vaulted ceiling and semi-circular walls, with windows all the way around.
You can imagine waking up here in the morning, and looking out over the foliage and taking in the panoramic view.
This room also has an attractive en-suite bathroom, complete with walk-in shower and a granite surface.
I do feel very sad about not having the chance to live here, he admitted. The house itself is just amazing and this part of Wales is fabulous, with its surfing, golfing and wine bars.
He added: This house offers more than just a place to live - it offers a complete lifestyle.

The front entrance leads into a breathtaking galleried reception hall adorned with a beautiful stone tiled floor with under floor heating. The area is lit with quality 'Iroko' sash windows, which can be found throughout the property, solid oak doors to all the ground floor rooms and an impressive vaulted ceiling towers above you. A beautiful staircase adorns the curved wall to the first floor, and is a notable feature with granite treads etched with a Celtic design, stainless steel balustrade and glazed panels. At the end of the hall there is a spacious en-suite guest bedroom with oak flooring, built in wardrobes and a stunning semi-circular wall with numerous sash windows providing multi aspects onto the landscaped terrace. A glazed door leads from the bedroom to this garden area, and there is also access to a luxury en-suite complete with contemporary fittings and natural stone tiling. The hall also gives access to a third bedroom with oak flooring and a luxurious bathroom with contemporary suite including a corner bath, and beautifully tiled walls and floors with attractive detailing. Finally on the ground floor there is a fully fitted utility room with solid oak cabinets and granite work surfaces, a separate sitting room or office with oak flooring, and access to the integral garage which has a window and timber doors leading to the driveway, and which could be utilised as a gym area if required.

A superb arched window lies opposite the balcony landing providing views and natural light. The first floor comprises of a spacious open plan kitchen with dining area, adjacent to which is a living area with vaulted ceiling and oak beams with inset lighting. This area has a semi-circular wall with windows providing multi aspects of the landscaped garden below, whilst an impressive 'Dru' wall mounted flame effect gas fire set into a slate covered chimney breast, provides a unique focal point. The living area flows through to the dining area thanks to the attractive tiled floor found throughout this area, and the dining area is highlighted by six remote controlled roof lights which allow plenty of natural light to flood into the whole area. Beyond the dining area is the stunning kitchen which is fitted out with white gloss cabinets and granite worktops, and includes a large central island with breakfast bar and 'Neff' ceramic and modern 'Elica' extractor hood. Further 'Neff' appliances adorn the kitchen and include a coffee maker, steam oven with warming drawer, microwave and dishwasher, and there is also an 'Amana' fridge freezer with water dispenser and 'Liebherr' wine cooler. A cloakroom is located just off the kitchen area together with built in storage cupboards, adjacent to which is a balcony with an attractive stainless steel balustrade, and a superb arched window providing views and further natural light. The first floor is completed by a master bedroom which is served by a sumptuous en-suite with walk-in double shower, and boasts oak flooring, a vaulted ceiling with oak beams inset with lights, built-in wardrobes and a semicircular wall with numerous sash windows. Finally, a glazed door provides access to a raised terrace located to the side of the property.

The property is approached via a granite block paved driveway providing off-road parking and access to the integral garage. The garden at The Residence is low maintenance and offers plenty of spots for sitting out, enjoying the fresh air and soaking up the sunshine.
There is a series of terraces, said Gareth. It does feel private as there are some lovely, large trees as well.
In front of the house is a block-paved driveway, with off road parking and leading to the garage.
Borders in all the gardens are retained by stone walls and there are lots of shrubs.
