The Accommodation
The interior of Everley is a stylish and elegant combination of period character and charm, with its high ceilinged rooms with sash windows, together with top quality decoration and fixtures and fittings with state of the art modern equipment.

The entrance is into a fine reception hall with parquet floor and fireplace with carved stone surround and wood burner, and panelled doors open from here to the cloakroom and reception rooms as well as the kitchen/breakfast room, which forms the heart of the house with its stone flagged floors and French doors opening to the terrace and gardens and equipped with an extensive range of top quality fittings, including Aga. From here doors lead to the dining room and on via the utility room into the yoga room with its sprung heated oak floor, air conditioning and wiring for a media unit. Glazed double doors open to the impressive light and airy studio, with exposed French oak roof timbers, part glazed roof and sets of French doors opening to both courtyard and terrace and gardens.

Also approached from the reception hall are the extensive domestic offices with laundry room and linen store. The staircase rises to the first floor with principal suite including beautifully fitted bathroom. Also off the landing are two further bedrooms, shower room and WC, as well as the guest suite with bedroom and fully fitted shower room. Beyond is an inner landing with the rear staircase leading down to the kitchen and doors to a final suite of rooms including bedroom, bathroom and dressing room.

The Cottages and Offices
A fork from the main entrance drive leads around to a wide gravel yard and parking area beside which is the 3 bedroom cottage, with large open-plan full height office space adjoining.

The Equestrian Facilities
Beyond the yard, beside the cottage and offices, is a range of excellent equestrian buildings including a timber and stone stable block with 4 loose boxes, a double sized foaling box, large implement and machinery store and workshop adjoining. Beside the stable block is a large five bay, timber framed barn, 19.50m x 7.62m (64' x 25'), incorporating a staff kitchen and cloak room, feed room, hay store and loft storage space. Adjoining open fronted garage area and a stone built tack room. Adjacent to the fenced paddock, beside the stable yard, is a timber field shelter and beside the entrance drive is a sand and rubber outdoor riding arena with all-weather surface.

The Gardens and Grounds
The grounds are a particular feature of Everley with paved terrace and level lawn with stunning views across the grounds to the moor and beyond. Undulating, landscaped areas include the large pond fed via a series of waterfalls through the granite rock garden.

To the west of the house, are paved terraces with the beautiful walled garden below, its granite walls enclosing a gently sloping lawn fringed by plant borders supporting a profusion of colourful plants and shrubs. A path leads past the herb garden to the wide, circular, paved terrace beside the studio. There is a large vegetable and flower picking garden and steps descend to extensive, gently sloping mown areas of gardens planted with various ornamental trees and overlooked by a fine stand of mature beech trees.

Below, a stream feeds through two further ponds with granite surrounds and water loving plants, and immediately below is an area of natural, ancient woodland, bisected by a Dartmoor stream. A flight of steps lead down from the gardens through the wood to the stream.

To the rear of the house is the enclosed paved courtyard and the driveway continues around the side of the house to a three bay car port. Surrounding the house and gardens are a range of pasture paddocks, divided by post and rail fencing or Dartmoor walls and banks, a chicken pen with hen houses and areas of ancient, mature, natural woodland around the fringes of the property.

In summary, Everley is a truly stunning house, decorated and equipped to the highest standard with separate cottage and offices well away from the main house, as well as excellent equestrian facilities, all entirely surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and grounds, and offering genuine peace, tranquillity and seclusion in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park.
