VENDOR COMMENTS

When people ask where we live and we tell them, so many say, excitedly, " But that's my Favourite House " and others joke "When I win the Lottery I am buying your house ". It is a really special house and a local landmark.
My mother and I used to drive past this house when I was young and she always admired it but I never dreamed that one day I would live in it. So when my husband and I were looking for a new home thirty two years ago, and noticed that it was for sale, we didn't hesitate to arrange a viewing and at once we just knew this was the home for us.
Word has it that the original part of the house was built by someone who won the football pools. Subsequent owners have added to the house and we added the new self contained wing, 1st floor dining room, 3 extra bedrooms, garage and, the icing on the cake, the indoor swimming pool, in which my husband and I learnt to swim.

We are so very privileged to have lived in this wonderful home for the past 32 years. With no immediate neighbours, it has everything, privacy without being secluded. It has always felt a safe and secure house as the 2 stairways interconnect the upstairs so in case of fire there are 2 ways of escape and as the front of the house is not hidden behind trees it is very secure coming home at night. We also benefit from not having a long drive as in the snow we are able to get our cars out.

Living here has given us a wonderful lifestyle. In summertime I, particularly, enjoy breakfast in the summerhouse which looks out over the terrace with its cascades of flowers quietly listening to the singing of the birds. Tea on the lawn is another pleasure and even when the weather is very hot we can sit out in the shade of the trees.
We would not be leaving if we were younger because I doubt very much that there is a house for sale that will fit our requirements so perfectly as this one does. However, it is time to downsize and pass this very special place onto the fortunate next owners. We will take with us many happy memories ,of parties and family gatherings over the years. The huge Drawing room lends itself perfectly for these occasions as does the 1st floor Dining room, which has a gorgeous ambiance for evening dinner parties and is ideal if you want private caters in, as it has a dumb waiter which delivers the food from the 2nd Kitchen below, so that guests can be well away from the mess that inevitably occurs when one is cooking. The main larger kitchen is ideal for informal family dining and opens onto the terrace so allows easy al fresco dining. A very adaptable home, in which to raise a family. With so many rooms there allows all members of the family space to watch TV, play music, games, read etc without intruding on others. It is a great home for entertaining and surrounded by beautiful Green Belt Countryside, it is lovely to watch the seasons change. We will miss living here very, very much.
We love the location in that it is semi-rural but at the same time incredibly convenient for Coventry, Birmingham and the motorway network. Both of us have run our own business' and the road connections are superb.

Imagine, inviting family and friends to a summer swimming party in the heated indoor swimming pool, barbecuing on the terrace, taking afternoon tea in the rose scented garden and followed by dinner in the spectacular, formal dining room, complete with dumb waiter.

The vendors have tastefully extended and re- designed the house throughout to include a self contained guest wing/annexe ,with its own access and driveway providing large kitchen/diner, downstairs cloakroom with WC, sitting room, lobby with own staircase rising to landing with shower room and bedroom. This wing of the house may also be accessed from the main house and included as an integral part of the home as required.
The main house consists of hall with staircase to first floor double gallery landing accessing dining room with dumb waiter from kitchen below, a further 5 bedrooms, main family bathroom and Jack and Jill bathroom to master bedroom and guest room.
A spiral staircase rises from the snug with working fireplace to large bedroom, suitable for teenager or conversion to games room or home cinema. 27 ft Drawing room with working fireplace and magnificent bespoke fire surround.
Further reception rooms include large hall, morning room, library and study.
Indoor heated fully tiled swimming pool with shower room opening onto large terrace.
Set in approx. 2 acres, with mature, rear landscaped garden being totally private, mainly laid to lawn and planted with shrubs and specimen trees. Parking for 10 cars. In and out driveway to main house. 3 large garages.
