History
The barn was converted 20 years ago from a farm steading building which was built along with The "Gingerbread House" by Sir James Gowans. It is made of whin, sandstone and marble. The renovation of the Barn won first prize in the Henry Ford UK Conservation Engineering Awards.

This is a unique barn set within an area of "outstanding natural beauty". A stunning rural location between Armadale and Avonbridge in the central belt of Scotland. The barn is situated in an historic A-listed stone masons training village, built 1842, on the former estate of renowned architect Sir James Gowans. The barn was restored in 1997.

The property offers extremely spacious accommodation over two levels benefiting from hardwood double glazing and a new roof.

The barn comes with large gardens including picnic area, lawn and Canadian scribed log sauna. In addition there are 2 acres of historic mixed woodland, including sequoia, oak, monkey puzzle & copper beech trees.

Size
Gowanbank Barn is an impressive over 310 square metres and the garage/workshop/store will provide another 390 square metres.
