No Onward Chain. Tulk House is situated in some 9 acres of glorious grounds in the Ottershaw Park Estate, the history of which dates back to 1761. The building was originally constructed as part of Ottershaw College, founded in 1948. As the school prospered the number of pupils outgrew their original accommodation in The Mansion and therefore it was decided to erect separate dormitory accommodation. Tulk House was built in two parts, the original construction completed in 1952 being called West House. This was substantially extended in 1961 by a connecting block of similar design.

This very smartly presented three double bedroom home will appeal to anyone seeking an easy to maintain property with plenty of space and character. The accommodation offers bright and spacious rooms including a stylish modern kitchen incorporating various integrated appliances. The lovely sitting room with open fireplace is ideal for entertaining and offers far reaching views over the park like grounds towards the Surrey Hills. Double glazed French doors open onto a private terrace and garden.

Head upstairs via an elegant art-deco style staircase to the spacious first floor landing with all three bedrooms, and the family bathroom, leading off. All the bedrooms are spacious doubles. The master suite includes a walk-in wardrobe and its own en-suite shower-room. Both en-suite & family bath/shower-rooms are fitted with modern suites.

Tulk House Management Charge of 2950 pa and Service Charge of £250 pa. Next review 31/10/2017.

The history of Ottershaw Park begins in April 1761 when Thomas Sewell a barrister of Lincoln Inn Fields bought Ottershaw Farm from The Reverend Thomas Woodford, cleared it away and built the first Ottershaw Park mansion. Over the years it has been used in several guises, notably a hospital during WW1 and a college after WW2. In early 1945 Ottershaw school was founded and classes were held in the Mansion block and in the Bothy. Several houses in the grounds were occupied by members of staff. Even today, on an annual basis the old masters still meet for a reunion at Ottershaw Park. Classes continued until financial restraints forced its closure in 1980. The buildings of The Mansion and Tulk House were purchased by developers Delta Home and converted to the present residential accommodation in 1982. The building was then re-named Tulk House after Peter Tulk, the first governor of Ottershaw College.
