"We love our house, and only find ourselves looking to move because of my very paper-intensive home office, and the idea of getting a live-in helper for the children as well. We moved in with a toddler and now have 2 children and it's the nicest place we've ever lived. The house is very light, warm in winter, and so easy to live in, with no odd proportions or dark corners. The house was in good condition before, but because we extended both up and out, we ended up redoing everything, from the boiler to the garden. We had maximum space and modern convenience for family life in mind, but also wanted to add to its natural period charm, with oak floor throughout the ground floor, French doors, newly laid grass, a limestone paved patio and trellis in the back garden. The garden is south facing, and is incredibly green and quiet, with an old apple tree (I've made hundreds of crumbles from it!) many healthy shrubs, jasmine creeper and 2 slender holm-oak planted this year taking very well and forming a tall and shady screen. Our spot gives on to good things in all 4 directions, including Central and Piccadilly lines and Crossrail: Ealing Broadway with all its shops, restaurants, and park; Northfields with our favourite cafe, interesting shops and Lammas park; Hanwell a bit further long, where you can escape to the meadows, allotments and the canal; West Ealing to get to Heathrow extra fast and the vintage antiques market. For a neighbourly pint, the Grosvenor is brilliant, and the Forrester has a very nice garden. On Saturdays, the Farmers Market is a three minute walk away, for delicious eggs, bacon, artisan bread and much else. Our school run takes us for 10 minutes through Deans Gardens, Mattock Lane and Walpole Park - it couldn't be nicer. We've made loads of friends here, and our neighbours are a mix of young families and lovely people who have lived here for more than a generation. We hope you'll be as happy here as we are!"
