HISTORY
Frondeg Hall was constructed in 1896 by the famous architect Sir Aston Webb, who is known for his design of major civic buildings and monuments such as the main façade of Buckingham Palace, Admiralty Arch, the Queen Victoria Memorial, London, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among many others. There are few examples of his domestic architecture, making Frondeg Hall a rare entity with a rich history. The property was commissioned by Sir Aston Webb’s uncle, Edward Evans (of Evans, Lescher, and Webb, Druggists of Liverpool, later part of Glaxo). It was built to exacting standards for Evans’s youngest son, with particular attention to the position of the building as well as the gardens, which were created in the form of a crown to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Jubilee. Over the years the property has changed hands on few occasions; our clients have been resident there for about 20 years.

LOCATION
Frondeg Hall occupies a peaceful position with a lovely rural outlook. The property stands centrally within its own land enjoying a tranquil setting yet is extremely accessible with good road links. It is well placed for the county town of Wrexham which, at 4 miles distant, offers a comprehensive range of services, with supermarkets and out of town retail parks. Schooling is well provided for with state, primary, and secondary education locally complemented by private schools in Chester, including the King’s & Queen’s and Abbeygate College at Saighton.

On the recreational front there are rugby, football,
cricket and golf clubs in Wrexham, public swimming baths and an indoor tennis centre. For outdoor enthusiasts there is horseracing at Chester and Bangor on Dee, fishing and sailing on the River Dee, and extensive walking throughout North Wales, particularly in the picturesque Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey.

COMMUNICATIONS
Despite its rural location the property is well served by roads, being within 2 miles of the A483 Wrexham by-pass, which connects to the Chester Southerly by-pass. The Chester Business Park, Wrexham Industrial Estate, and Deeside Industrial Park are all within easy commuting distance. All areas of commerce throughout the North West and Midlands are also accessible.

Beyond Chester the Southerly by-pass connects to the M53 &M56 Motorways facilitating travel to Liverpool and Manchester, which are both served by international airports. Travel to London is available from Chester station, from which there is a 2-hour service to Euston.
