THE PROPERTY

Dating to 1862 The Old Vicarage enjoys a private position on the edge of the village with views over open countryside from the upper floors. The property is constructed of red brick with blue banding under a pitched slate roof with decorative ridge tiles. The Vicarage was designed by the Luton architect George Hamilton for the Rev. James Milne-Hamilton in a muscular Gothic style.

From historic records the Vicarage was built by John Vickers of Dunstable and John Ayre of Hockliffe at a cost of £1,250.

The current owners have been extremely good custodians of the property and whilst upgrading and modernizing the house they have been very sympathetic to its inherent Victorian character. THE DESCRIPTION

The study lies off the inner hall with oak strip flooring and at the far end is the orangery with part glazed double doors opening onto the gravelled drive and doors allowing access to the workshop, coal and wood store.

At the far end of the reception hall is a cloakroom, door to exterior and access to steps leading down to a large dry cellar.

FIRST FLOOR
