A one-bedroom apartment within Westbrook House, an impressive Grade II listed building, located in the popular seaside town of Teignmouth.

Westbrook House was built in the early 19th century and is currently divided into six apartments, all of whom have a share of the Freehold. Westbrook was one of the 'great houses' of West Teignmouth when it was developed as a resort in the late eighteenth century. It was occupied by the builder William Bragg in 1811 and Colonel Keating was the owner in 1854.

Apartment 2, has a spacious living room, balcony, kitchen, shower room and one bedroom, and is entered through an impressive Tudor Arch front door, which is shared by another apartment, up a short staircase and through a glazed door into the hallway. The apartment is full of period features, high ceilings with decorative mouldings, large, leaded, beautifully intricate stained-glass gothic-style windows to name but a few. The hallway is painted in red with door frames and plaster dado contrasting in white. The polished wooden floorboards are wonderful and the hall widens beside the kitchen door into an area that the current owner uses as a study. At the other end of the hall is a shower room. With a beautiful stained-glass window and decorative tiling, this room is lovely and it houses an electric shower, basin and low-level WC. The bedroom is double-sized and has a beautiful stained-glass window. A high ceiling, with white-painted wooden panels and a suspended chandelier, is very much in keeping with the rest of the property. The kitchen has a wooden panel ceiling, cream walls with apple and pear decorative borders and has marble effect worktops on three sides, with blue, tiled splash-backs. Base units and matching eye-level wall cupboards, with under-cupboard lighting, provide the storage facilities and there is an integrated oven with gas hob. The boiler is also located in the kitchen providing gas central heating throughout the whole of the property. There is also space for all the essential white appliances, and a large obscured glass window allows in light from the living room. The spacious living room is a delightful space. A decoratively tiled fireplace with carved wooden surround looks elegant and houses a brass-coloured fuel effect gas fire. A high ceiling with elaborate plaster cornice and mouldings is a fabulous feature and three sets of French doors, with shutters and stained-glass over-lights, not only provide an abundance of natural light but open out onto the wonderful private balcony. Facing southwest, views over the sweeping drive, communal front lawn and grounds, Teignmouth and Shaldon can be enjoyed. Also in autumn when the foliage on the trees and hedges has lessened, views of the Teign estuary are possible. An additional door to the balcony and grounds beyond provides an alternative entrance to the property.

OUTSIDE The apartment has the use of the communal gardens and front lawn and there is one allocated parking space and further visitors parking.
