Description - As sole agents we are delighted to present this delightful cottage to the market. Every now and again a property comes along which is truly special in every way. In our opinion Shire Cottage falls into this category. Sitting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Green Belt a short distance away from Eynsford and Farningham villages, Shire Cottage enjoys far reaching, uninterrupted views of the surrounding picturesque countryside from every aspect with sunshine all day from sunrise to sunset. Part of the cottage dates back to the 1800's and has been sympathetically extended and updated with immense attention to detail. What could be more idyllic than sitting in the comfortable Sitting Room, in front of the wood burning stove with the stable door open, enjoying the stunning views of open countryside right on your door step. The farmhouse style Kitchen leads nicely into the Dining Room which overlooks the rear garden and more stunning views over open countryside. All three bedrooms and family bathroom are arranged over the first floor. Shire Cottage has so many unique features with several shady seating areas to both the front and rear providing perfect settings for outdoor entertaining. The cottage also benefits from an outside Home Office with light and power, just perfect for those working from home. Shire Cottage deserves early viewing to fully appreciate it's charm in such a stunning picturesque setting and very difficult not to fall in love with it on the first visit.

Location - Shire Cottage sits between the villages of Eynsford and Farningham. Eynsford is a vibrant village with a station providing services to London on the Victoria/Blackfriars line. Links from the area giving access to A2/M2, A20/M20, M25 and Dartford Tunnel as well as Ebbsfleet International station , airports, the coast and Channel Tunnel. Farningham is believed to be home to Neolithic history – flint and other tools have been discovered and these can be found in the Dartford Museum. The Romans occupied the general area after their invasion in the 1st century and, along with evidence of habitation down the road in Lullingstone, there is also evidence of Roman habitation in Farningham. Three farmhouses and three villas have been unearthed. The River Darent provided excellent trout fishing and Charles Dickens was a regular visitor here. Farningham had a watermill, powered by the River Darent, the building of which survives. Close by is the popular village of Eynsford which is a vibrant village with local shop, restaurant/public house, churches , highly regarded Anthony Roper School and the well known historic bridge and ford. For those who enjoy outdoor pursuits there is a golf club closeby in Shoreham and Cricket club in Eynsford. Many walks and footpaths through the surrounding picturesque countryside.
