Full description

Yopa is proud to introduce to the market a stunning period stone built three bedroom property in the harbour town of Amble.

Amble, Northumberland's friendliest port, offers a wide range of amenities including a supermarket, shops, doctors, first, middle and high schools, a health centre, pubs and restaurants. There is still a working harbour, a marina and a popular Sunday market. Many of the things to do in Amble are based on the very thing that almost completely surrounds it - water. Watersports, sailing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing are all extremely popular. Amble is home to the UK’s only puffin festival, inspired by the colourful 36,000-bird colony nesting on Coquet Island, an RSPB seabird sanctuary a mile off the coast. Warkworth and Alnwick are a short drive away. Amble has a regular bus service to Alnwick, Ashington, Blyth and Newcastle, and it is approximately 4.5 miles to the mainline rail station at Alnmouth.

We enter the property via the front door and are welcomed into an internal porch, where there is original tiling to the floor and two doors that lead off from here into the two main reception rooms.

The lounge is a lovely room with a large window overlooking the street, providing you with plenty of natural light. There is a wonderful feature inglenook fireplace fitted with a wood burner and an open staircase that leads you to the first floor. The whole house has recently been tastefully redecorated and refurbished to a very high standard.

The dining room can be accessed via the second door leading off from the porch. There are beautiful, original stripped wood floorboards as well as another inglenook fireplace with a tiled hearth, fitted with a wood burner. Furthermore, there is a lovely Victorian style radiator.  Once again this room benefits from high ceilings with detailed coving and a large window overlooking the street. The window itself is surrounded by exposed stonework.

The characterful kitchen is at the rear of the house just off from the dining room. There is a further inglenook with a gas range set into it with a chimney style extractor fan above. Around this area is more exposed stonework adding to the charm of the room. There are spotlights in the ceiling and natural light provided by the large window overlooking the south facing gravelled yard. There is space and plumbing for a washing machine as well as a good number of free-standing work units. The splash back tiles are a lovely brick style and they sit beautifully behind the twin Belfast style sink.

There is a door from the kitchen that leads us into a rear hallway with a uPVC door that opens out into the rear yard and another door to the pantry, which is shelved with space for a fridge/freezer and further views out over the yard.

The stairwell to the first floor leads up from the lounge and is light and bright with delicate spindles. There is a half landing with a window overlooking the front of the house and further stairs that lead up to the main landing with various doors leading off.

The master bedroom is a very peaceful room with lovely period features such as the original fireplace with a decoratively tiled hearth. There are lovely shaped walls and a uPVC window to the front with wooden shutters.

Further down the landing is a second double bedroom with a window to the front with lovely coving to the ceiling. This room benefits from an ensuite, with a wall hung hand basin, a close coupled WC and a large shower.

At the far end of the landing there is a third double bedroom which is used by the current owners as a gym but once again it is a lovely double bedroom with a window looking out to the front of the property. Prior to this room is a Velux roof light providing the landing with more natural light.

Opposite the stairs sits the bathroom part of the property. The bathroom has a claw-footed slipper style bath with shower taps, a pedestal wash hand basin and a large shower cubicle. At the end of this lovely bathroom is a door that opens into what could be a wonderful dressing room; although currently used for storage this additional room does benefit from a Velux. Opposite the bathroom is a separate WC, which features a fully tiled floor as well as a large Victorian style radiator and a window overlooking the rear of the property.
