Northleach is a small, historic town, some 10 miles from the market town of Cirencester. Hidden from the busy A40, it stands at a crossroads on the Roman Fosse Way, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The streets surrounding the ancient market place are rich in architecture, ranging from half-timbered Tudor houses to merchants' stores. Northleach has an excellent variety of shops including an award winning butcher, a chemist and a post office. The town also benefits from a doctor's surgery, junior school, nursery, a magnificent medieval church and the well-regarded Wheatsheaf Inn. A lively charter market is held every Wednesday and the Charter Fair is held annually in June. A wider range of shopping, leisure and educational facilities can be found in Cheltenham and Oxford. The M40, M4 and M5 motorways are all within easy travelling distance. Regular bus services to Moreton-in-Marsh and Cheltenham and trains to Oxford and London Paddington depart from Kingham Station (14 miles).
