4 bedroom detached house for saleBlackpool Road, Newton, Preston, PR4
Rustic Villa built in a style reminiscent of period farmhouses has sat in this position for the last 80 years and has a charm all its own. Hidden away behind the house lies a large mature garden waiting to be discovered. Inside there is a 30ft living room, large kitchen and dining room plus 4 bedrooms and a generously proportioned bathroom. But what really makes this home special is the potential it will give the next owner. Do you refurbish, redesign or possibly even replace (subject to planning permission)? The choice is yours! Ref. No.#LCKR01
Step across the front step, through the porch and into the hallway which transports you to the rear of the property, passing on your way, the staircase to the first floor on your right. Before reaching the living room and kitchen a door to the left leads into the garage and next to this sits a downstairs cloakroom with wash basin and low level wc. An
arch to the right off the hallway leads into the farmhouse style kitchen with loads of natural light streaming through the south facing window.
Ranged around the kitchen are a generous number of units with ample worksurfaces as well as a built in electric hob and eye level double oven.
Step through the kitchen and you reach a dining room (currently used as a study) with a window to the front and a wood burner stove tucked into the chimney breast. Off the kitchen a door leads through a lobby with built in storage to the garden. Across the rear of the house sits the fabulous living room complete with french doors out to the garden. Upstairs a rear window lets light flood onto the landing which leads to 3 similar sized double bedrooms and a single bedroom plus the
generously proportioned bathroom fitted with a large shower cubicle in place of the bath, in addition to a pedestal wash basin, low level wc
Without doubt one of the stand out features of this property, the gardens from front to back are generous, mature and charming. The front driveway sweeps in from the road via wooden gates and the gravelled area in front of the house has space for a number of vehicles as well as accessing the double garage. The gravelled driveway continues down the side of the property
before giving way to the charming rear garden. If a garden could be described as having character then this one has it in abundance with a formal lawn giving way to a wild meadow ringed by mature trees and shrubs. To add to this a large wooden greenhouse sits next to your very own Nissen hut (ask your parents/grandparents) with
ample space for storage or to indulge your passions/hobby.
Around and about
Situated mid way between Preston and Kirkham at the start of the village of Newton-with-Scales the house has wonderful access to the local countryside and its myriad of villages whilst only being a short drive to major supermarkets. In the village you will find a convenience store, family park and the local primary school, Newton Bluecoats which is rated as Good. In fact good schools abound in the area with the locally renowned Kirkham Grammar nearby. The Fylde coast is easily reached from bold Blackpool to the
quiet confidence of Lytham St.Annes.
What We Like
Where do we start? Well the garden has to be our favourite especially in the summer when it feels like an oasis of calm and of course who doesn't want their very own Nissen Hut (a real man cave!). But the house itself has so much potential we love the anticipation of seeing what the next owner will do.
