Full description

Tenure: Freehold

Nestled in an enviable location on the southeastern quarter of the island is this detached four bedroom family home. Adgestone is a stunning rural village set inland from the sandy beaches on the eastern coast of island and is renowned for its vineyard and extensive flora and fauna.

Bought originally as a main residence this property is now offered chain free and with huge potential for any new owners.

Since original build in the 1960’s, the property has benefited from three extensions, one of which increased the dining room size, another providing a large master bedroom over the integral garage and the more recent added a bespoke conservatory overlooking the garden. The property provided a fantastic family home for many years, and offers huge potential for a new family.

The property has been well maintained over the years but would benefit from some modernization to improve its internal presentation, and maximize the space on offer.

On entering the home the entrance hall is light and spacious and leads you directly to the lounge, which has a dual aspect and leads through to the conservatory at the rear.

This area is a lovely addition to the home overlooking the mature garden and also gives access back into the extended dining room giving plenty of space for many a family gathering or social occasion.

The kitchen and utility room give scope to be opened up to provide a large modern kitchen dining space subject to relevant permissions. In addition on the ground floor there is of course access to an integral garage as well as a separate cloakroom.

The first floor has four bedrooms, three of them good size doubles as well as a family bathroom.

The front of the home offers a large driveway with access to the garage and the property has a picket fence to each side. The rear garden is a beautiful space with a selection of mature shrubs and trees and plenty of space for children to play.

With both double glazing and central heating already in place this delightful family home offers great potential to any family who seek a property to make their mark on.

Please refer to the footnote regarding the services and appliances.

What the Owner says:

On moving down to the island in 1967 with a young family this property offered us everything we could wish for: a rural setting, close to shops, schools, the local train station and bus stops.

The house and gardens were extended and gave us plenty of space indoors and out. We have been able to enjoy all the countryside had to offer with equestrian adventures, country walks over the downs, bicycle rides along the nearby cycle path and visits to the local beach.

The house has been the central hub for growing children and grandchildren; family parties and celebrations. With the family now scattered around the world it is time to let another family make their mark on this house.
