However, at the same time we have the lovely village of Ramsey just down the road, which has a supermarket, a garage and three schools, so we’ve never felt isolated. Here at Stone Farm we’ve had all the space needed for my children to be able to keep their own ponies. It’s been such an idyllic place to call home.”

“We bought the house as it offered a really fantastic amount of space. Over time we’ve done a few things here and there to improve it further. We had a new heating system installed, the electrics were overhauled, the flat roof was replaced and internally we’ve updated the décor. For us it’s been an ideal family home. The bedrooms are all good sizes, we have a lovely big kitchen/diner and I particularly like the fact that we have two very generous sitting rooms because it has meant that we could have a more grown up space as well as a lovely big room in which our children could hang out with friends.”

“The sheer amount of outside space was a huge selling point for us and it’s something that I for one will definitely miss when we leave,” continues Catherine. “The house is approached via a long driveway that cuts through the two front paddocks, so it’s set way, way back from the road, and as well as a ‘formal’ area of garden around the house, we have yet more grazing land to the rear of the property. It’s such a serene space and I love nothing more than being outside and just soaking in these gorgeous surroundings. There’s also an abundance of Farm tracks around the property, so the hacking for the horses is fantastic, whilst not having to ride on any busy roads.”

“I think my favourite room would have to be the large kitchen/diner,” says Catherine. “We have a big dining table in there and a TV, and it’s the room to which everyone seems to naturally gravitate. It’s definitely the heart of the home.”

“I just love the fact that I can be at home or in the garden and feel totally away from everyone and everything,” says Catherine, “and yet we can walk into Ramsey or hop in the car and be in Huntingdon in twenty minutes or Peterborough in thirty. For us it really has been the ideal place.”

“This has been the most beautiful place to live for the past twelve years and I know that it will be a huge wrench to leave,” says Catherine. “There’s just so much that I’ll miss, but most of all it will be the peace and tranquillity of this amazing setting.”
