The church was of Norman origins and has the existing Norman Font. Present church was built in 1350. Today there are working farms, variety of local businesses and enterprises. Of note there is minimal traffic through the village as there is a road going around the village. The village also enjoys dark nights as there is no light pollution due to no street lighting, so a real joy for star gazers. Cornworthy is a real hidden gem. It has a thriving community and is a working village surrounded by farms and fields. It is very close to the River Dart and a tributary of the Dart, Bow Creek. Part of the village is classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village appeals to those of all ages, families with children, single people, retired and the elderly. There is a church, a village hall and a pub....
