Description
Morvah is situated in a peaceful elevated position, facing south over its own land which slopes down to the River Tiddy in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by woodland. The house is approached from a narrow public road, through a pair of iron drive gates on granite pillars and a tarmac drive between clipped beech hedges to a parking and turning area outside the house. The house contains a number of well-proportioned rooms, a number of which enjoy views over the gardens and grounds and to the countryside beyond. There is also the benefit of a detached cottage, The Cider Barn, providing a useful ancillary income as holiday letting.

Surrounding the house are lawns, rhododendrons and other varieties of trees and shrubs including pyracanthas against the house wall, raised vegetable beds, log stores outside the rear entrance and space for parking. There is a stream-fed pond fringed by water loving plants, including lilies and irises and is a haven for wildlife. A path, with a mass of bluebells in the spring, leads down to the river, which is tidal. Beside it is a decked balcony overlooking the river and known as the quay, with a sheltered barbecue area and boat-launching spot. The vendors have in the past moored their boat at the quay and have explored and rivers and inlets at high tide. There are fishing rights on the river, which contains salmon and otters and is visited by kingfishers. Beside the river is a designated Site of Scientific Interest.
