The Vendor's View - We were looking for a project when we came across this property and instantly saw the potential. It was pretty, attractive and filled with original features. The 1930s was a really good house building era, with sturdy and strong properties, and this house was virtually untouched. We moved here in 2004 and began the extensive renovation process!
After a total refurbishment, we are so proud of what we have achieved and we love every room in different ways. Our favourite place to spend time in is the outdoor living area that we have created; there a lovely patio and pergola covered in grape vines, and we have an outdoor sofa and dining area. It’s a fantastic place to have a barbecue with friends, entertain or just enjoy with family. The master bedroom is a wonderful place to escape to at the end of a long day; it’s large and peaceful with a very relaxing atmosphere.
We absolutely love the central location here. We can easily walk into Margate, which has gone through huge amounts of regeneration in the past few years and is becoming increasingly popular. Being within walking distance of the train station is ideal, especially since the arrival of the high-speed service. Our favourite restaurants and our beach hut are a short walk away in Westgate, and the local community is so friendly – we have wonderful neighbours that we will really miss.
This has been a great family home and we’ve had amazing parties here. It’s a fantastic place to live, and everything you could possibly need is practically on your doorstep.
