Full description

A stately, substantial Neo Georgian four bedroom semi-detached in the heart of Walthamstow. Built to a scale more normally seen out of town, you have 1400 square feet of living space, dual reception rooms and a lengthy garden rich with greenery. A rare find, and an ideal home for the largest of families.

The Drive is one of our most sought-after avenues, peaceful, green and leafy, with Walthamstow Village, Lloyd Park and Wood Street all within a few minutes walk.

You'll be enjoying the generous room sizes of the period, with the dual aspect east reception room totaling over 200 square feet in its own right. Your second reception is 185 square feet, and benefits from the striking Georgian bay window. Both have original timber floorboards underfoot, stained to a rich vintage finish.

Design & Decor throughout has a similar vintage warmth, with timber internal doors, sash windows and all manner of period features such as the period style ceiling roses and stained glass in the front door. The kitchen has a cottage-like atmosphere, with lots of nooks and crannies, and plenty of room for dining.

Upstairs, the grand master bedroom is an impressive 175 square feet, with a rich dark floor. Bedrooms two and three are substantial doubles of well over 100 square feet while bedroom four is a generous single of 85. The family bathroom is artfully tranquil, with black and white tiling, vintage fittings and an oversized rainfall shower.
Outside, your secluded, private garden stretches for over 100 feet and features all sorts of trellises, paths, patios and undergrowth. It's the sort of outside space children can explore for hours, and in the summer will be perfect for garden parties. Side access is via a solid iron gate.
You have Walthamstow's finest attractions right on your doorstep – most notably the award-winning restaurants, bars and gastropubs of Walthamstow Village all within a few minutes walk. From the traditional charms of The Queens Arms and The Castle, to the cocktails of Eat17 and craft beer at the Wild Card Brewery, there's something for everyone.

- You have a fine choice of local schools, with seven primary/secondaries within walking distance, all rated 'Good' or better by Ofsted and including the 'Outstanding' Woodside Primary Academy and St Mary's CofE Primary.
- Walthamstow Central Station is just a fifteen minute walk for direct, twenty minute runs to Oxford Circus and Liverpool Street.
You have off street parking for plenty of cars, and drivers can be on the North Circular in five minutes.

A WORD FROM THE OWNER:....Our house has given us 22 years of pleasure. We’re leaving to move to the seaside, but will miss it. An architectural puzzle, Georgian façade but pure “Arts and Crafts” inside, it’s solid, surviving the bombing of the East End during the second world war and holding it’s dignified presence in an increasingly modern Walthamstow.
We’ll remember it as an oasis; surprisingly peaceful and private. The sun streams through the front of the house in the mornings and moves around the garden so there’s always a sunny and shady spot. Many happy hours pottering out there! The wind can howl around the house on a stormy night and the trees house many chattering birds to entertain us.
We’ll miss having the village, God’s Own Junkyard and the special William Morris Gallery just a short walk away. But it’s the quirkiness of the house that we’ll miss most; the round window in the study, the much loved kitchen dresser, the period touches. Most of all we love that the front door is in the middle of the house, just like children draw houses!!
