A WORD FROM THE OWNER:....Our house has given us 22 years of pleasure. We’re leaving to move to the seaside, but will miss it. An architectural puzzle, Georgian façade but pure “Arts and Crafts” inside, it’s solid, surviving the bombing of the East End during the second world war and holding it’s dignified presence in an increasingly modern Walthamstow.
We’ll remember it as an oasis; surprisingly peaceful and private. The sun streams through the front of the house in the mornings and moves around the garden so there’s always a sunny and shady spot. Many happy hours pottering out there! The wind can howl around the house on a stormy night and the trees house many chattering birds to entertain us.
We’ll miss having the village, God’s Own Junkyard and the special William Morris Gallery just a short walk away. But it’s the quirkiness of the house that we’ll miss most; the round window in the study, the much loved kitchen dresser, the period touches. Most of all we love that the front door is in the middle of the house, just like children draw houses!!
