The Vendor's View - We moved to Stone Cottage 40 years ago as, at that time, we loved the rural location in the middle of nothing but farmland. Since then, a lot has happened and we love having the town next to us, as we have the best of both worlds. There are still plenty of country walks, yet the convenience of shops, restaurants, cinemas, gyms etc. all within a 5 minute walk.
The house has a lovely secluded feel and the surrounding trees screen us from any noise or view of Westwood Cross. The location is very private and we have only one near neighbour, who we get on very well with. We love Stone Cottage’s unique character and comfortable atmosphere. We enjoy spending time in our garden and also the conservatory, which is sunny and bright, as are all the living rooms with their picture windows.
Haine Road is back to the one we fell in love with all those years ago, quiet and peaceful again now that the bypass has taken the bulk of the traffic. The location is idyllic with its rural setting, yet convenience for all the amenities you could possibly need including some really good local schools.
We brought up our three sons here who have now left home. Although we need to downsize, we have no ambition to move from the old Haine Road, and we’re hoping to find a smaller property here in the same area. We will really miss living in Stone Cottage, which was not just a house, but a home to us for the last four decades.
