Favourite aspect of the grounds or surrounding area: "I think what makes the location so special is the fact that you get the feeling of living in the countryside, however we're incredibly close to a number of well-served towns and just an hour from the city centre."

Memorable event: "As well as having a large garden to the back of the house, we also have a huge driveway to the front so parking is never an issue. I've also had the garage fitted out to a high level and it even has hot and cold running water."

What they'll miss most / why they are leaving: "It's everything that we've done to the house that I think I'm going to miss when we leave, particularly the tech side of things," says the owner. "We've transformed a very nice house into an really outstanding family home."

Maldon Court Prep School is only 6.8 miles away, and the Preparatory schools of Widford Lodge, Elm Green, St Annes and St Philips are within driving distance. The academically selective grammar schools of Chelmsford and Colchester are also within reach.
