AGENTS COMMENTS Full of character, period charm and within a beautiful setting with fantastic sea views onto the English Channel. The village of Bonchurch is set on the outskirts of Ventnor with a pretty village centre and lovely coastal area with a quiet beach. Fortunately, this two bedroom apartment sits right within the heart of it! You'll find the property accessed by a private driveway leading onto this grand house believed to be built in 1828 and once used as a hotel with tariffs ranging from 5 Guineas a week, as well as a convalescent home for the injured military during the Boer War. The fascinating history that comes with this property, is unlike many homes you can purchase in today's world. The property comes with its own garage plus additional parking. From here, you begin to realise you're in for a real treat with surrounding gardens being immaculately cared for amongst such a lovely setting. Stepping inside your own front door, you are welcomed by a warm and inviting entrance hall leading through to two double bedrooms, which are well complimented by a large bathroom. The kitchen is a good size also with space for a breakfast table. However, it's the lounge/diner which really sets this home apart, a 20ft + room with characterful features and a stunning outlook onto the English Channel. This view combined with the grandeur this room has, makes it a superb entertaining space. Once owned by Sir John and Lady Pringle, the Lady in Waiting to Queen Victoria, this magnificent building has had a number of prestigious residents over its many years. Another interesting element you can find here, is the reference date markings found inscribed on the roof's lead flushing's, recording the maintenance dates, reaching back to 1902.

OWNERS COMMENTS We bought our home here when the building was being renovated, that was some forty odd years ago! To say we've enjoyed our time here would be an understatement as we have loved it. It's been a very happy home. We have family on the other side of the world in Australia and therefore it's time for us to join them and are selling our home here to make the move permanent.
