Description - The Brookhouse is a Grade II Listed former farm house and is believed to date back to the 16th Century, but at least to the 17th Century as it date stone suggests. The property originally stood on a site near to Bucknall, Staffordshire, however it had fallen into disrepair when its previous owner bought it in the early 1970's and relocated it to its existing position in Knighton. The dismantling and careful rebuilding lead to an extensive restoration programme and took many years to complete, using traditional methods and materials where possible. The original house, in its original location, did have a further wing extending from the breakfast room and there may still be the potential to reinstate this, subject to normal planning permissions.

The property benefits from many period features but comes with modern day luxury of a high standard, including Portuguese travertine floor in the hallway and kitchen areas, Villager wood burning stoves and Stonewood fitted bathrooms. The oak timber frame is prominent throughout but also includes solid oak doors, staircases and kitchen units.
Externally the garage (The Cart Lodge) is of oak frame and the converted outbuilding (The Old Stables)

Directions - From Nantwich proceed south along the A51 towards Stone, after passing Bridgemere Garden World proceed into the village of Woore, proceed for about ½ mile, turn right at Islands Cross (signed Eccleshall and Dorrington), proceed along here and take the second right into Smithy Lane, continue past the private road sign where you will see the stone gated entrance to The Brookhouse.

Location And Amenities - The Brookhouse is situated in the pretty village of Knighton, in a semi-rural location. The village benefits from a local pub and a village hall and the larger villages of Woore and Lodggerheads offer a variety of facilities including a Post Office/general store and public houses. The towns of Market Drayton, Nantwich and Stoke on Trent are within easy travelling distance and offer a more comprehensive range of shopping, social and sporting facilities. The property is private but is still within easy access of the M6 motorway for ease of commuting to the north and south of the country and rail travel to London Euston (90 minutes) is available from Crewe railway station. International travel is available from airports located at Birmingham, Manchester and East Midlands.

Approximate Distances - Market Drayton 6 miles, M6 (junction 15) 10 miles, Stoke on Trent 13 miles, Nantwich 10 miles, Crewe 14 miles.
