At the rear of the room a semi glazed door leads into the dining room. The wooden floor continues in here and adds to the cottage feel of this comfortably sized room, the ambiance of which brings to mind the atmosphere of a 1950’s children’s adventure story, when the heroes arrive home safe and sound. In here it is impossible not to feel warm and safe – just as a home should be.

Off here is the bathroom. Tastefully tiled and containing the normal suite of hand basin, lavatory and bath with shower over.

Another semi glazed door from the dining room leads into the kitchen, a bright and airy room with a ceramic tiled floor where old fashioned style meets modern high tech. Electric hob and oven, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dish washer; nothing 1950’s here then….

The rear wall of the kitchen is largely taken up by a huge set of opening French doors, overlooking the lovely garden with its flagged patio area for alfresco dining, large lawn and a summer house that truly is a little piece of heaven. This is not your average summer house in that it is a substantially built structure with more than a little of the Log Cabin about it. The main opening doors face away from the house and overlook a large decked area for lazing on in utter privacy. Just the place for letting the cares of a busy day dissolve into a glass or two of something cold – and all in the comfort of your own home.

Returning indoors and upstairs we find to the rear of the home the two smaller bedrooms. The smaller of these, while not big enough for a double bed is a very comfortable single and in no way merely a box room as is so often the case in three bed semis. The larger of the two however, is a more than adequate double room and both overlook the peace of the garden.

To the front is the main bedroom. A large room with one wall wholly given over to fitted wardrobes and storage, while on the other side a door gives access to the en-suite wet room with its accompanying hand basin and lavatory.

All in all, this house reminds me of the Tardis. Not for any way involving size or scale but more for the way that any expectation you hold when you enter, is nothing like what you find. As I said earlier, it is a home full of surprises, all of them pleasant. The summer house is a haven of peace and a refuge from a difficult world. The accommodation is comfortable and has the sort of character than many try to instil into their homes, but fail. The convenience of Mold is easily accessible, as is Flint, Holywell and the Deeside strip, the surrounding countryside is famously pretty and Rhosesmor is a highly sought after location.
