Right, following the NewHome4U policy of utter honesty let me first address the elephant in the room. This home is situated in the village of Rhosesmor famous for, among other things, the Tiger Tim firelighter factory. Sadly this is to be found directly across the road from the home. BUT, allow this to influence your judgement and you may miss out on the chance to live somewhere genuinely exceptional. If you can keep an open mind read on but if you can’t, this is probably not for you.

Opposite the factory car park this immaculately presented home is actually the end of a terrace of three, nestling behind a neat privet hedge and a newly installed wooden fence with vehicle and pedestrian gates. The white PVC front door gives us access to the small entrance hall with its original black and white chequered ceramic tiled floor.

We turn right into the pleasant and spacious lounge with its large bay window admitting generous amounts of light. There is a raw brick surround to the fireplace, with its open fire and a series of shelves fitted in the alcoves either side of the chimney breast.

A door to the rear of the room leads us into the wooden floored kitchen-dining room. This is unexpected in a home of this size having the look and feel of a big farmhouse kitchen, which can never be a bad thing. Turning sharply to our left we come to the recessed space beneath the stairs containing the oil fired central heating boiler. Although not the most modern unit on the planet this has, like the rest of the home, been fastidiously maintained and should see plenty of service yet. The kitchen worktops are solid wood, with their leading edge and the edges round the sink scalloped rather than simply being squared off. Difficult to describe but very attractive. There are masses of workspace and all the fittings are fresh and obviously well cared for. There is an enormous bespoke set of cupboard set in the wall at the dining end of the room, as if there were a shortage of storage space; but then, there can never be too much…. There is also a set of sliding patio doors leading out into the conservatory.

With its ceramic floor, this stretches across the full width of the home with twin opening French doors to the side. A large electric ceiling fan maintains a comfortable temperature and makes for a lovely place to relax whatever the weather. Through the French door onto the small patio area, we find the rear of the detached garage and the oil storage tank as we look down over the garden with its lawn, various shrubs, small trees and greenhouse. And the view. And transfixed, we stare at the view….

Tearing ourselves away from the view we move back indoors and up the stairs to the small square landing and turn right into the front facing main bedroom with its attractive wooden floor. This is a large room with plenty of light thanks to its twin windows also offering a view. Sadly less impressive this time, being of the factory opposite but does the vista to the rear of the home make up for it? In my opinion yes, I could forgive almost anything for sitting in that conservatory with friends as the sun goes down, putting the world to rights and staring out over God’s back yard.

To the rear of the home is the second bedroom. Obviously this is smaller, but still comfortably big enough for a double bed and all the necessary furniture and the view? I think I may have mentioned that already.

Finally we have the bathroom. This all fairly standard with white tiling, a hand basin, lavatory and bath with glass screen and mains powered shower over. Where this room does score is that where many others are short on floor space, this will easily accommodate a chest of drawers for all your towels and the ‘stuff’ that clutters any flat surface.
