Full description

Castles present this stunning two bedroom 'Double Fronted' Victorian house for sale. The house has been recently renovated and is conveniently situated for the locally-loved Walthamstow Village and Wood Street Station. This lovely period Victorian house stands proudly on the highly-favoured St John's Road. Features include: two double bedrooms upstairs, a great landing, newly renovated original sash cord windows. On the ground floor you have a huge lounge, a great kitchen/diner (both with solid oak flooring), and there's also a laundry/utility room and a newly installed luxury bathroom. The 'stand out' feature has to be the absolutely stunning, newly installed, Kitchen/Diner with stainless steel 'professional oven' with wok burner - and curved LED glass extractor above. The house has plenty of natural light and character - complimented nicely by the original sash cord bay windows and high ceilings.  EPC: E.

The Recent Renovation Work:
The sash cord windows were stripped back and redecorated. These face the street and give the house its character, so we couldn't bear the thought of losing them. We did not replace the three double glazed windows to rear as they were already in a good condition. The house has been completely rewired. The plumbing was also completely updated. The walls and ceilings were re-plastered and painted to give a contemporary blank canvas. The kitchen and bathroom are newly installed. The side of the house has also been repointed.

Front Garden:
Well presented with decorative shingle and a path to the attractive front door.

You enter this lovely house via the Victorian style hardwood front door decorated and finished in one of Farrow and Balls latest colours (INCHYRA BLUE - No 289) and features obscure glazed panels and heavy chrome 'door knocker' and letterbox.

The Huge Lounge:
17' 0'' x 16' 1'' (5.18m x 4.90m)
This gorgeous living space is naturally bright as it has a huge sash cord bay window. We love the way the sunlight reflects onto the solid oak hardwood floor and how the high ceilings add to the sense of space.

The Kitchen/Diner:
16' 5'' x 10' 8'' (5.00m x 3.25m - measured to widest points)
This stunning 'newly installed' kitchen features contemporary 'Graphite Grey high gloss' wall and base units with soft close doors. The stainless steel range oven is simply stunning and an absolute dream for anyone who loves to cook and entertain at home - it even features a built in wok burner for quick and healthy meals. The large original sash cord bay window allows plenty of natural light in, and again, this reflects nicely onto the solid oak hardwood flooring. The high ceilings add to the sense of space and feature contemporary recessed spotlighting, there's also a radiator and an under-stairs storage cupboard.

The Lobby and Utility Room:
The lobby area provides access to the Utility Room on the left, the newly installed bathroom on the right and the door to the garden straight ahead.

Utility Room:
The combination boiler is brand new and wall mounted. It is plumbed - ready to add your washing machine.

The Bathroom:
This lovely bathroom has been 'newly installed' and has great water pressure - great when you need a refreshing shower, or a quickly filled bath! There's a panelled bath with chrome shower above, modern WC, sink, chrome heated towel rail, contemporary spotlighting and contrasting floor and wall tiling. The double glazed window also lets in good natural light.

First Floor Landing:
The landing is a feature in its own right - it's split level with high ceilings and contemporary spotlighting. The large original sash cord window lets in plenty of natural light and the carpets are newly laid.

Master Bedroom:
1414' 3'' x 11' 5'' (430.74m x 3.48m)
Naturally bright with a large sash cord window to front plus an additional window to rear that looks out over the garden, radiator, newly fitted carpet.

Bedroom Two:
14' 4'' x 10' 7'' (4.37m x 3.22m)
Naturally bright with a large sash cord window to front and additional window to rear that looks out over the garden. Radiator, newly fitted carpet.

The Garden:
66' (20.10m - Tapered Garden)
Featuring trellised fencing this lovely 66ft garden starts off wider than average (as you expect from a double fronted house), then it narrows and tapers the further down the garden you go.

What the owners love about living here:
We love how easy it is to reach Wood Street train station and we love the Wood Street area in general. We also love all the local history in the area - Wood Street is one of Walthamstow's oldest shopping streets, it used to serve the 'wealthy residents' around the Forrest area. Having the town hall virtually on our doorstep is also lovely, we've been to some great concerts there. Having the scenic 'Lloyd Park' within an easy walking distance has also given us a lovely open space to enjoy. We occasionally love the 'hustle and bustle' of Walthamstow market, we absolutely love eating out at some of the great restaurants in and around Walthamstow Village, but having said that... we're also rather partial to eating at the famous 'Grade II Listed' Manze's Pie and Mash shop at Walthamstow market.
