The popular historic market town of Alnwick has an abundance of amenities including specialist shops, restaurants, pubs and hotels. The Alnwick District is famous for its unspoilt beauty, and is one of the most picturesque areas of countryside in England - with long sandy beaches, quiet friendly villages, the Simonside and Cheviot hills, well preserved medieval Castles, and gardens. There are numerous Stately Homes in the area including the fantastic Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland and often referred to as “The Windsor of the North", with it’s gardens being a popular tourist attraction. The Alnwick Playhouse offers a range of events from monthly film previews to theatre productions. First and secondary education is readily available.
The property is well located to offer easy access to the A1 with Berwick & the Borders to the North. The stunning Northumberland coast is approximately 1 mile away with the area being renowned for miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and historic castles. Wider amenities can be found in Alnwick which offers an assortment of banks, medical services, sports centre and many high street retailers.
Newcastle city centre & Newcastle international airport lie to the south offering access by rail and air to other major UK towns and cities.

A Mainline railway station with superb rail connections to London, Newcastle and Edinburgh is available from nearby Alnmouth.

The Property
Longhoughton Hall dates back to the 17th century and has been sympathetically extended over the years. The property is a Grade II listed beautifully symmetrical Georgian house set within stunning garden grounds.
The bright well proportioned and versatile accommodation is arranged over two floors and combines a wealth of wonderful period features with comfortable modern living. These include working shutters, original fireplaces, wooden floors and cornicing.

The front porch leads into a welcoming reception hall with slate flooring. There are three reception rooms on this level two of which have open fireplaces and wonderful views over the garden. The hub of the home is the large dining kitchen with Belfast sinks and Aga. Beyond lies a scullery, pantry and laundry area plus a cloakroom.

A fine staircase leads from the entrance hall to a split level landing with ornate arch window allowing natural daylight to flood in. The principal bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with an enclosed shower and an original fireplace. There are three further well proportioned double bedrooms all benefiting from views over the garden. Three bathrooms on this level complete the accommodation.

Longhoughton Hall provides a southerly aspect with attractive light reception rooms which are versatile in use and all contain a number of period features. Combining these features with all the storage the house offers makes Longhoughton a wonderful family home and an excellent property for entertaining.
