DESCRIPTION
All Saints Church was designed in early English Gothic style by the architect Robert Wheeler of Brenchley and was built in 1869-70 as an Anglican chapel-of-ease to the parish church at Horsmonden. The sympathetic proposed conversion retains the external finishes and preserves the stunning interior.
Features to note include:

The chapel is of yellow brick with bands of red and black brick and minimal stone dressings, red brick double modillion cornice and stone window heads and cills and a tiled roof.

The plan consists of a 3 bay nave with projecting south penticed porch, slightly narrower 2 bay apsidal-ended chancel with a north organ chamber and vestry.

Six single trefoil-headed lancet windows in the chancels and pairs in the nave with leaded lights. Two west lancets with a circular window in the gable.

The north vestry is lower than the main body of the church and has a triple window with rectangular lights facing east and a gable end facing north which has a two-light window and an arched doorcase.

The proposal retains over half the nave to full height with floor inserted in the remaining space to provide flexible accommodation.

Most attractive polychromatic brickwork principally in red brick with arched features and bands picked out in black.

Chancel arch supported by marble columns with carved angel corbels.

Wagon roof (barrel-vaulted) in the nave, panelled and painted roof in the chancel.

Tiled floors of alternate red and black tiles, more highly decorated in the chancel.

The organ is of 1870 by Thomas C Lewis and has a panelled base with trefoil decoration.

The chancel apse windows have contemporary stained glass.

The proposed layout gives a most impressive open plan living space with a study/snug beyond. A Basement Cinema and plant room. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms and a shower room and on the second floor the master bedroom with en suite bathroom and dressing room.

OUTSIDE
The proposal is to create a turning area and 2 parking spaces at the front of the church and the plot in total is 0.23 of an acre laid to lawn at this stage.
