A classic Victorian villa close to the heart of the village with over 3000 sq. ft. of internal accommodation and the potential to update.
Arlington House is a substantial Victorian Villa believed to have been built in 1890 of stone elevations under a pitched slate roof. From the porch the front door opens into the hall with lovely Victorian tiled floor and staircase to first floor. To the right of the hall is the drawing room with fireplace (not used) and marble surround, a dual aspect room with French doors to the front. The sitting room also has a working open fire with marble surround. There is a dining room with study beyond. The kitchen / breakfast room is a good size with stone tiled floor and range of units. A useful walk-through store leading to the boot room is accessed from the hall. There is also a laundry room with sink and door to outside. The staircase rises from the hall to a large bright landing where bedrooms one and two are at the front of the house, both dual aspect and with bedroom one having an en-suite bathroom. There are four further bedrooms, with bedrooms three and six also being dual aspect and a family bathroom. Bedroom four has a wash hand basin and could become an en-suite bathroom for bedroom two. Bedroom six is above the laundry room to the rear of the house and has the scope to create a superb en-suite bathroom to bedroom three. Arlington House is a lovely light house with large windows and the principal rooms all facing south. The gardens are to the side and back of the house and there is ample parking at the front. While Arlington House has been well maintained by the current owners there is now the scope for an incoming buyer to modernise and put their own stamp on it.
Arlington House is approached from New Street via wrought iron gates on to a gravel in-out drive where there is parking for a number of cars. The path continues to a rear courtyard where a stone outbuilding houses two good stores. The garden is to the side and rear of the house and is laid to lawn with some flowerbeds and a number of mature trees and shrubs. The gardens are also surrounded by walls on all four sides, stone at the front and to the east, brick at the rear and west. The stone wall at the front of the house has wrought iron fencing and a further brick wall after which is a parking space and garage.
