The Story

They moved to attractive Trinant Hall 27 years ago and went on to transform it into the family home of their dreams
Almost every room at Trinant Hall offers a sumptuous blend of interior styles.
The current owners of the property have created a home to meet their every need and to reflect their own lifestyle and heritage.
“We wanted this house to be quite traditional in many ways and to suit our own tastes,” says the owner. “I am not originally from Wales but my wife is Welsh and we wanted a home that brought our cultures together. We also wanted it to be a splendid family home and a fantastic place to entertain, we have been very happy here for the past 27 years.”

NEW BEGINNINGS
Located at Llanhilleth, Trinant Hall is believed to date back approximately 200 years and to have been built for the manager of a colliery.
“It has a long history, the mine is now closed but there is an old picture of this house up in the local library,” says the current owner.
He still remembers the first time he and his wife saw the property. They had been drawn to it by its position, which offered great convenience to good road connections as well as tranquil country living.
“I wanted somewhere that was secluded and brought my wife to see the house when we were expecting our youngest daughter,” he recalls. “We both liked the house and our daughter arrived that very night. The next day I went to the estate agent and made an offer.”

SPACIOUS HOMES
They bought the house in early summer and then carried out major modernisation work on it. By the end of January it was ready to move into.
“The house would originally have had a pitched roof but at some point in the past this was replaced by a flat roof. We returned it to the way it used to be, giving ourselves two more bedrooms and a shower room on the top storey.”
Everything was completed to a high standard, ensuring the seven bedroom property had a comfortable layout and that rooms throughout were well proportioned.
“We also added the swimming pool complex, with its sauna and shower room, this has given us great pleasure over the years,” he adds.

LIFE OF LEISURE
When the children were growing up, pool parties were often held at Trinant Hall, and in the summer doors on to the garden were opened up all along the side of the building.
“We have had lots of parties here in the past and the children would often invite their friends over to play as well, they had the time of their life!” he says.
The ground floor of the house also features a very large drawing room, as well as a sitting room, dining room and kitchen breakfast room “As a family we have really enjoyed the kitchen, when people who know us come round we often find ourselves sitting in the kitchen as it is such a lovely room,” he says. “When new guests come to eat with us, or on special occasions, we sit down in the dining room.”

LUXURIOUS TOUCHES
The first floor of the house features five bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of these is part of the master suite, which also has its own opulent bathroom and walk in wardrobe storage areas.
“We have a lovely vaulted ceiling in our bedroom and like all the best rooms in the house, it also has a beautiful chandelier,” says the owner. “This whole house has a style that has suited us very well but someone else could come in now and also make it their own.”

SEASONAL JOY
The mature grounds at Trinant Hall provided great outdoor space for the children to explore when they were younger. There were lawns to play on and wooded areas to hide in. The expansive terrace at the back of the house has been a superb entertaining space and a wonderful extension to the pool area in the summer.
“I love the fact there are so many different parts to the garden and that it changes so much with the four seasons,” says the owner. “In the winter the trees look bare but beautiful, then all the leaves start to come out and the flowers come up and we have wonderful springs and summers. In the autumn there are different colours to enjoy.”
He adds “We have loved living here so much for all these years, now it is time for someone else to follow in our footsteps.”

Setting The Scene

Set in beautiful countryside surroundings, the grounds at Trinant Hall offers great privacy and tranquillity.
The house itself sits well in the plot with the garden wrapping round it. There is a very large terrace for outdoor living and some beautiful expanses of lawn. The boundaries are leafy with an array of mature trees.
In total there are approximately five acres of land. To the front of the house there is ample parking, together with a double garage with electric doors.
