Living Here... - There is a lot of talk at the moment about Francis Road. (In our case, there’s always a lot of talk “on” it as well, but more about that later). Currently halfway through the council’s pedestrianisation masterplan to create Leyton Village, it’s a fascinating time to live and work in this little part of E10. With the gradual changing of the guard, as old businesses morph into new and dynamic ones, it should present itself as a destination street, rather than a conduit to other places and spaces. The pedestrianisation, with its flower beds and outside seating, will lend itself to a more genteel ebb and flow of residents and visitors alike. Thus, there will doubtless feel like there is more time to stop and chat to neighbours and local business owners (like we said, we often find there’s lots to talk about on the street, not just about it). And as the new space beds in, so the area will continue to grow and develop as the locals come up with new ways to enjoy it. Francis Road really does feels like it’s starting on a new chapter in its long history, and like any good book, we can’t wait to turn the page and see what happens next…
