Full description

We’re pretty good at judging houses as we knock on the front door, so when we first visited this property we were pretty sure we knew what to expect internally. However, even we were surprised by just how much space this house has to offer. It has been cleverly extended to maximize the usable space throughout, resulting in a delightful and practical family home. Take the ground floor for instance. There’s a lovely front reception room in which to curl up with a cuppa and a good book, or dive into popcorn on a family film night. Directly behind is the dining room and adjacent kitchen, (perfect for when you need to multi task cooking and homework supervision), whilst the ground floor is completed by the modern family bathroom. On the first floor are two good size bedrooms, both beautifully presented, but the real icing on this cake (or should that be cherry on the top?) is the master bedroom on the top floor. Here is an oasis of calm (if that’s what you require), with plenty of space to unwind, as well as a lovely en suite shower room. Outside is the rear garden, with decking for the adults (G&T anyone?), and lawn for whatever games the kids dream up. A great family home, perfect for whatever your family requirements are…

Guide Price £525,000 - £550,000.

Living Here... - We could go into overdrive telling you about the new Wildcard Brewery site nearby, or the amazing opportunities to learn new skills at Blackhorse Workshop, or even about how convenient it is that Blackhorse Road station is literally minutes away. But let’s face it – this is a family home, so it’s all about the kids, right? Well, the location of this property could hardly be better when it comes to the junior members of your household. There are a number of great schools within walking distance (no, honestly kids, the schools are great!), and when school isn’t calling, there’s Higham Hill Park just up the road. And don’t forget the new Walthamstow Wetlands centre which has just opened – the perfect spot to take the bikes for a spin, or maybe allow the canine members of the family to take you for a walk or two. Whatever the plans, there’s loads to keep the children (and adults!) amused and entertained in this part of East London – all you’ve got to do is choose…

In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - Blackhorse Road station sits at the junction of Blackhorse Road and Blackhorse Lane. The name is actually a mispronunciation of Black House, a grand old house that once stood near St James Street. Blackhorse Road runs through the heart land of the old Warner estate. If the road was an artery, then its veins would be the quiet tree lined streets of red brick half house flats that lead off many of its junctions. Have a wander down Edward Road and marvel at number 108. This beautiful tiled building is now flats, but was once part of Truman's Brewery. It is simply glorious. Stoneydown Park is not only a great park with a kids’ playground, it is also home to a music festival. Every summer the Stoneydown Park festival fills the air with good music from local musicians, and fills our stomachs with great food and ice cold beer. It’s completely free and personally speaking, one of my favourite events of the year. Just behind the park is Bonner’s Fish Bar which, according to some, is the best chip shop in Walthamstow. Quiet streets, good transport links, free music, and the best chippy - what more could you want?
