Full description

Tenure: Freehold

A substantial Victorian mid-terraced home, with six bedrooms, an enclosed rear garden, parking and sea views in a convenient location, a short walk from the shops and beaches in the seaside-town of Teignmouth.

This property is mostly double-glazed, with gas central heating and offers good-sized rooms but would benefit from modernisation and has the potential to become a wonderful spacious family home.

A path leads to the entrance, with decorative gravel, shrubs and a palm tree, and inside, the property is arranged over three floors.

The porch has a period tiled floor, and a decoratively glazed door leads into the hallway.

The living room has a high ceiling, a large bay window, and a fireplace, with a marble mantel, slate hearth, and a living flame gas fire, making a nice feature, with a picture rail and papered walls. A sitting room has another fireplace, fitted with a gas fire, and a study area to the rear. A wall-mounted gas boiler, provides the heating and hot water, and a door leads into a spacious conservatory with French doors to the garden.

The kitchen has a vinyl floor, and is a good size, with plenty of worktop space, and a range of oak-fronted high and low-level units providing ample storage. There is a gap for a cooker, and space beneath the worktop for a dishwasher and washing machine. A door leads to the garden and there are two skylights filling the room with natural light.

Upstairs on the first floor, a half-landing leads to a cloakroom, with a WC and basin, and stairs lead up to the master bedroom, a spacious double, with plenty of light from a bay window to the front. There are two further double-bedrooms, one with an airing cupboard, and a bathroom, part-tiled with a bath, WC and basin in salmon pink. There is a large store cupboard, off the landing, and stairs continue up to the top floor where there are three more bedrooms, two doubles and a good single, with fabulous views over the garden, rooftops and the Teign estuary, Back Beach, Shaldon and the Ness.

Outside the rear garden is fully enclosed making it safe for children and pets. there is a paved patio, ideal for a family barbecue, and a level lawn bordered by beds of shrubs on either side. A stepping-stone path leads to a gate at the rear, where there is off road parking for at least one car, which could be increased by sacrificing some of the lawn.

Additional parking is available on-road at the front of the property.
