General Remarks - The River Dyfi is famous for its Brown Trout, Salmon and Sea Trout. If flows through the Dyfi Valley in Mid Wales, rising in the small lake Creigyn Dyfi 580 m above sea level, below Afon Mawddwy, flowing south through Dinas Mawddwy and Cemmaes to the south west passing the historic market town of Machynlleth to Cardigan Bay at Aberdyfi. The estuary forms the border between Gwynedd and Ceredigion. It is known as a very clean river with good numbers of Salmon and Sea Trout. The Dyfi records a ten year average catch (to 2009) of 1544 sea trout per season with many double figure fish among them.

Site Of Special Scientific Interest (Sssi) - The site is recognised by the Countryside Council for Wales as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). A copy of this is with the selling agents.
